Do you place cutlery neatly in their own pile when washing up?

You know, teaspoons neatly together, tablespoons in a different pile and so on? My wife has a hard time drying the cutlery when I wash, as I toss them into the drainer any way they come out the sink(well, handles all the same way). I don't have a problem with this, as when I dry them myself, it doesn't matter what's in the handful I pick up. Are you very particular with your cutlery like my wife, or don't think it matters all that much?

hello muscare, i have to giggle with your thread, haha just kinda seeing my husband doing the same thing and saying the same lame excuse as you did YES, i do pile everything in ORDER not only in cutlery, but to most everything that goes in the dish washer (big plate next to big plate dont mix em with the small one :) my husband complains about my OCD and it shows mostly anywhere in our home. i do everything at home so he have to live with it LOL i dont mess in his office stuff, so i guess we're even! btw, it is easier to dry up stuff that are the same and they goes directly where they belong (i guess that's girl's lame excuse ) to make it short YES in my eyes it matters a lot (so you better make sure the toilet seat is always down ) takecare

Hmmm, jairgirl, you sound very much like my wife in regards to certain things. I will say that the plates are different, they should be kept in the same size order. I can see you would have a hard time drying the cutlery here too, and possibly you'd struggle with the dreaded 'Toilet Seat' issue, LOL! Anyway, thanks for sharing!

I should be so lucky that all women be like my wife. Now that would be a very nice place!! Nice to see we also agree about the toilet seat as well, and have the same agreement, 'you don't complain, I don't complain!'. As you say, why worry about minor issues anyway. Things like that are better having a joke about!

LOL takecare and pleasure to participate.

Hi muscare...no problems with it here..All of it goes in the dishwasher and then I grab whatever and just put it away..The only time they are separate is when they go in the drawer...*smiles*

Lucky you, you have a dishwasher. Hmmm, actually so does my wife. Me, LOL! Sometimes I'm tempted to throw them all in the same compartment in the drawer, just for the reaction, LOL!

Do it...I dare you too!! I am not that fussy about it...It could all go in the drawer together in one clump but with my grandsons I prefer it to be separate so they don't cut themselves on the butter knifes..... One day my 6 year old grandson was helping load the dishwasher and I turned around to put a cup in and here he is sorting the silverware...I was like..oh, no honey, you don't have to sort it, but thank you anyway...sweet little guy......

Funny, I accidently(honestly) put a fork in the spoon compartment one day, and as my wife has a habit first thing in the morning of placing the spoon in her mouth while she gets her cereal ready, she poked herself with the fork. LOL, ok, ok, I know my sense of humour is a bit warped, but it was funny, and she didn't hurt herself. Kids are great when they help, or at least think they are helping, and when you have plenty of time to do whatever job they are helping with!

When I'm washing the silverware I don't sort it except spoons, forks and butter knives all go in one holder and everything else (sharp knives, serving spoons, ect.) all go in the other. All of them go in handles first except the sharp knives. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I'm less particular, but I do keep sharps separate, and I do have handles all up the right way, obviously more for safety reasons.

Nope I dont pile them neatly so does my husband. We have 2 sinks. Normally either one of us will do the dishes after eating so as long as the dishes get wash and clean its the person's job. But if we both do the dishes then one would soap the dishes and the other will rinse+ leave them on the rack to dry. We don't use a piece of cloth and wipe it dry. We just leave em there to dry by itself and when it;s dry I will just keep them back neatly in the cabinet. We also don't have a dishwasher...I think most Asian homes don't have them. We stil do manual washing.

We only have the one sink, so we tend to dry them, and most times we will do them together, but I think my wife would rather wash, but then so do I. I think dishwashers use too much water, and would never have one in my home. We still have the cutlery stacked in their sections of the drawer though.
