So I was looking at a friend's myspace page tonight. This is actually a sister of a friend. I haven't seen either of them in years and only got in contact with the sister a few years ago after loosing touch, but that is a different story. Anyway I noticed on her myspace page she had added some new pictures, including pictures of her nieces. Her one niece looks just like her mom did when her mom and I were growing up. I would swear it was my friend and not her daughter if I didn't know any better. They could be twins (minus the 16 year age difference)!
I've been told that my kids look like me, but not to the extent that they look exactly like me.
So, do you know someone that has kids and those kids look just like one of their parents?

Yes, I have an auntie of mine, she is 40 years now and she has a daughter 20. You cannot differenciate the two at all. They are like identical twins. the only way you can differenciate them is that the girl has a little younger looking face and a black spot at her neck. anything else is just the same even the height and weight. I wish I had their pics, I could have posted them here.
There is also another case and this is now me, there is my mother's sister who is 10 years older than me, gosh we look just like twin sisters. I look exactly like her and people think that am her daughter or sister and am not my mother's daughter.
Strange isnt it?

I wish I still had a picture of my friend when she was 16. I would have posted both of their pictures when I started this discussion so others could see just how much they look a like.

I actually have pretty similar issue with my Dad. Seems his genes are so strong that I look pretty much like him (mind you he looks better at 60 than I do at 33 these days). To cut a long story short, people used to ask him if I was his brother. Made his ego inflate, I'm sure of that ;)

I have a better story than that, names here are changed for protection of the innocent, saidye is the grandmother, she is the mother of my friend, Rona, and Rona has a daughter, Sharon. Rona and Sharon do not look much alike from what I can see, Rona is 53 and Sharon is 30. The grandmother of Sharon Saidye is 80. One day Rona was showing family pictures. And someone mentioned why is sharon wearing such old clothes? Sharon always dressed to the hilt she owned a clothing store. Rona laughed and said that is not Sharon, it was Saidye in 1940. Saidye and Sharon looked exactly alike, it was amazing.

I've been told I looked like my dad. But at the time I didn't want to hear it, being I was a teenager and all. LOL

Oh yes, there's this gal that I was friends with when we lived in Texas (army) and I haven't seen her in a long time. Her and her hubby broke up and he moved to Georgia which is just a couple of states below me. Last summer he came up to see us and had his two kids and when I saw his daughter I thought she was his ex because she looks just like her for the world! I was so shocked because the last time I had saw her, she was still a child and now she's all grown up and in college! It was a shocker that's for sure and gosh a blessing to get to see again! I took her under my wing because her mother would treat her so horribly and I hated it and to see her all grown up and as sweet as she can be is such a blessing!!
Another thing, everybody says my mom and I look alike all the time. She has big brown eyes and dark brown hair while I have big blue eyes and dirty blonde hair but we have the same body structure so I guess we look alike.... ah, do we? lol

That's sad that her mother would treat her that way. It was good of you to do this for the daughter. Kudos to you!
With my own kids, they both have blond hair like their father. My oldest son has blue eyes like his dad and my youngest son has brown eyes, like me. Yet people still remark that my boys look like me.

I personally do not know anyone whose kids look just like their parents. However, I believe this could be possible. I have a nephew who looks like one of his step uncle. They are about 24 years apart. Incidentally, this nephew also resembles my brother when my brother was around his age.

Hi there sacmom!
Yes, I have a friend, who's working in abroad right now who looks exactly like her son when she was a child the only thing different is that her son is male.
I also have fun whenever I'm in the daycare center with my son when I look around and by just looking, I can tell who's the mother or father of my son's classmates.

I looked a lot like my mom did when I was a little girl. However my friend's daughter is about 16 years old now and the resemblance between the two of them is uncanny! It is amazing!

Hi sacmom! That must be quite a surprise! I never knew anyone who exactly look like their parents but know a lot who resembles them a lot. Just like my younger brother who looks so much like my father and my grandfather but not to be mistaken as twins (well, of course minus the age difference too!). Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

It was! And my husband was just as surprised as I was when I showed him the picture and asked him who it was. He could not believe it was not my friend, but her daughter!

Oh yeah, I also see that in my family which is why since my first was born, every picture that was taken, their name was put on it..Because my sister, being 11 years older than I, when it came to pictures, we were clueless on some because we couldn't tell who it was..
I don't have childhood friends with myspace or they don't have kids, so I can't compare that way..Though maybe one day I will catch up with one, it would be interesting to see if they would look alike..

I used to be confused by some of the pictures of my sister and I when we were little. But that was because our mom used to dress us up as twins, even though we aren't. LOL

Isn't that weird? I am one of those people. My daughter is an exact copy of me. We are 20 years apart and she has ALWAYS looked like I did 20 years ago. Everyone in my family freaks out when we look at pictures of me 20 years ago and they see my daughter in the picture instead. Even my daughter agrees that she looks EXACTLY like me. She loves the fact that she looks like me thank God. Some daughters would hate it.

I have a friend who's son is 12 and he looks just like his father. I always joke around w/ him and say "you can't deny that kid he looks just like you to the T" I think it's awesome for I have a 9 yr. old son that looks just like me as well and alot of people say "your son looks just like you" I just have to laugh for I know it's true. It weird how it turns out that way but it just does

When I was in my early twenties...people who knew my mother at that age said that I was a spitting image of her ...including my mannerisms...funny because at first glance I don't resemble my mother at all...and I always thought I looked more like my dad.
My neighbour's mother visits all the time...and I never thought they look alike. But recently my neighbour had a dance programme...and all she did was wear a big bindi..and lo...there was her mother! She looked exactly like her mom and I hadn't seen the similarity in the 4 years I knew them.
this one's really unusual (I think)...but my sister-in-law looks exactly like my father-in-law.

My grandmother and her youngest daughter. In the early to mid 1980s I went to visit my Gran and met her "sister" for the first time. I put sister in quotes cuz her parents adopted the child and said child was actually the child of my Gran. All I had to do was look at the two of them standing next to each other. From the time I was little it seemed like my Gran was born "old" cuz she looked the exact same way from the time I was born til sadly the day she passed away in 1999. She never aged at all in looks. I miss her everyday.

Hi sacmom, I don't actually know any look-alikes, except for a bunch of identical twins. But then you can make out the differences even there. But I haven't come across anything so surprising as you have mentioned over here. Anyway, I do remember reading or someone telling me that there are seven people in the world who look exactly alike. Searching for all the people who look like us would be a tough task though. Who knows in which part of the world they exist?
Thanks for this interesting discussion.
Cheers and happy mylotting.

I honestly have seen teenagers that look a lot like their parents but usually they have something different like eye color, etc. to make them look not quite like their parent... or they just do their best to dress as unlike their parent as they can when they want to be seen as their own person.
