I think cell phones should be turned off in class because if it goes off, that's rude and inconsiderate to fellow student and the professor. But students like myself use their phones as contact info for classmates, work, professors, and calling home.

No total ban is not required but that provision can be made to keep mobile compulsory on vibration mode

Yes, I think so. As they can use Mobilphone cheating while taking examination
