Women vs Men are we so different?

I was told a joke today by email
and it got me thinking.
Why do men think differently
then women.....and
is there really a big difference.
What's your take?
Here's the funny
"The room was full of pregnant women and their partners, and
the Lamaze class was in full swing. The instructor was
teaching the women how to breathe properly, along with
informing the men how to give the necessary assurances at
this stage of the plan.
The teacher then announced, "Ladies, exercise is good for
you. Walking is especially beneficial. And, gentlemen, it
wouldn't hurt you to take the time to go walking with your
partner!"
The room really got quiet. Finally, a man in the middle of
the group raised his hand.
"Yes?" replied the teacher.
"Is it all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?"

Secondly...I really think it depends on the man and the woman..some men DO think very differently to some woman and visa versa but then you have some men and women that dont think so differently at all really...

This is very true! My husband and I have the same mind it seems like most of the time! That is why we fight most of the time too because neither one of us is wrong. lol

Well, it is not so much differrent.Both are humans, have same ambitions, desires,etc. But , as I have heard, woman is more security minded( after some initial hastiness),than men. But men , as they need not carry biological burden, are hasty and more anxious. Women are more humane, I feel, than men. That's why, when man disapoints them, she craves for little more time, atleast larger percentage, when compared to men in similar circumstances.

I agree with RavenLady, I think it depends on the couple. I have met men who think like women that you would think they were one and then I have met men who had no clue what women were thinking and how to deal with them. The same goes for women. I think it all just depends on the individual...

maybe man is different from woman in nature.
for example:the woman always like to talk to their partner while their husband would like to keep silence.once women can't be understood they would believe that their husband neglect them,but the man don't think like this.
in other facet,we also have different opinion.

awww...you got a good man. Mines that way too, he won't let me carry anything especially if its heavy, or if its dirty or muddy, cause he don't want me to get dirty...awww. Yes, weeman we are lucky...

I was told that once a boy is mature, his brain is bathed in the testosterone it produces and there is a divide, his left brain doesn't communicate with his right brain any more. On the other hand, a woman always has good communication or neuro transmission between the two halves of her brain. This also explains why a woman recovers language and skills better after a stroke. Her brain compensates for whatever is damaged with another part of her brain.

men do think differently then women and they approach problems differently than women, for example when men talk on the phone it is usually because they have to say something, they say and get off, women prefer to stay on the phone just talking about nothing in particular, just chitchating a great book written on the subject is women are from venus and men are from mars.

In my opinion,there are some differences between women and men.maybe you have also realize that.women and men sometimes don't understand each other at all.they are interested in different topics when they are talking.they play different games,they have different opinions of one issue.
To speak from experience,for a man,talking is generally more straightforward than women.it's about giving and getting facts.men generally don't base their friendships on talking.but on doing,getting together with buddies playing sports or hanging out.for a woman,prefer to talk detail about everyday events in their lives to their best friends.
I think,the responsibility for woman and man is differnet,and the eyes of circumstance is different.so there must be some different between the character of woman and man.

As for men and women being different and thinking differently.... well I think that there are women who think just as differently as other women and likewise with men. At the same time there are men and women who share similar thoughts. It all just depends on the person

its funny how men think,most time we think money and when to relax,we think games,sports,golf,soccer,and besides we do more ofour relatiing on our feet and on the move a woman does not enjoy that she want to do the relating by sitting in one point

My Mother used to say "all men are selfish". Unfortunately this is true more often than not. I do think, though, that there is a lot of difference between men and women. Our brains are not wired the same. That is why communication is so important. I always say, if there is another way for my husband to take something I've said, he will take it. Its very important to clarify what you mean because he may not get it at all.

There have been a lot of books that have been explaining to us why men and women are so different in the way we think, like the book "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus" and I guess that helps a lot somehow in trying to reach a point of understanding in both sexes. LOL! I believe there are real biological and physiological differences in the ways men and womens' brains process information and arrive at an idea. This is obvious based on not just the joke but the myriad of responses from both men and women to a single topic or concept.
We just tend to take different pathways toward an end. My husband has even laughed at some things i consider not funny in the slightest, other times he has gotten extremely mad about things I see as no big deal.
While some views are due to environment, circumstances, and the like, others are based on personality and maybe.. genetics?
