I will never forget my first date...
It was an arranged date. My parents called this boy's parents and drove me to his house to meet him and his family and then drove us both to the dance. His sisters and brothers gave him a hard time when he left as he had never dated before. It was obvious that he was embarrassed about the whole thing.
We were both 15-years-old and both of us were born on the same day in the same hospital room. I was older by about five or ten minutes. Our parents apparently met each other at the hospital and became good friends.
I had never met him before and it was a formal dance. I wore a long lavender-pink dress and he wore a soft blue-green suit. He brought a corsage for me to wear that matched my dress.
He was red haired, had freckles and was much taller than me. He unfortunately had injured his knees in a basketball game and was due to have surgery so he could not dance that much.He was nice and kind to me. He kissed me gingerly once.
After the dance, my mother insisted that I write to him to thank him for taking me but would not let me write my own words to him and ended up handwriting the letter by herself.
I found that the boy put my photo in his bed room but never called me and I was not allowed to call him as it was not considered by my mother to be appropriate so we never saw each other again.I heard that he later got married to someone else.

I must admit that for a very long while I did think about it... I though am glad that he has married and hope that he is happy. I don't give much, if any, head space to thinking about being with married men...It is just a waste of my time.

I do and I remember I was so nervous. He took me to the movies and I remember when we were leaving my mom, my siblings and some friends were all standing there watching and saying "awww", needless to say it was completely embarrassing. It was so sweet though, I remember he opened the car door for me.
Anyway, I remember that I was so uncomfortable and nervous that he bought me a candy bar and the whole time I just held it in my hands and never ate it, by the time the movie was done it was melted LOL...It was a very funny and innocent date and I am so glad I don't have to relive the akwardness of it over again but it's nice to have the memory of it non the less LOL...

To be completely honest I have been been with my husband for 8 years and we have never had a "real" date. We have gone out plenty of times for dinner or a movie but not dinner AND a movie.
