Plastic Surgery update

I posted a few days ago about my recent plastic surgery. I went back yesterday for my first post op appointment. He removed the stitches, which was a lot more painful than I expected and also the drain, which was a lot less painful than I expected. He had me start taking asprin daily to prevent blood clots and I got to remove the TED hose today. It feels so good to be rid of the hose and the drain. I can actually use both hands to shower now instead of having to hold that freaking bulb in one hand. The only problem I have is that the top layer of skin over my belly button has died and it's black. He says it may turn out ok or we may have to do surgery later (at his expense) to repair it. Even with that problem, I'm still very happy that I had it done. I love improving my appearance -- it makes me feel better both inside and outside. How about you? How do you feel about having something like this done?

Well,i've never had any plastic surgery and not considering one,but i did have an eye surgery when i was 10. That wasn't so bad, except for the morning after, when i woke up and found out that i could not open my eyes and, worst of all,it hurt... I looked like a vampire for the next couple of weeks with crimson-red eyes and kids used to be afraid of me:) What was really unpleasant is when they took off the stitches-imagine someone pulling threads out of your eye with no anesthesia. Not real pain, but that feeling would make you sick to your stomach!

You are right! That feeling would be horrible. I had to laugh at the kids being afraid of you because you looked like a vampire, though. That's too funny.

I ain't lying:) I remember walking down the stairs in the hospital a few days after the surgery and that little boy was there(well, then he was my age). One look at me and he speeds up like Sonic the Hedgehog! It took me 5 minutes to realize why he'd done it:)

It is hard for kids to find words about things they do not understand, so they just run.

I never had anything done for my looks, but I did have a hysterectomy. I had developed a constant bleeding, and it felt great to get it done. I healed quickly, and took a vacation during my six week leave. I got all better fast, and felt wonderful about it.

I had the same problem with the bleeding and had a hysterectomy too, but that was almost 30 years ago when my 31 yr. old son was only 2. I think surgery has come a long way since then. I remember being in horrible pain after mine. I felt pain after this surgery but not nearly as bad and not for nearly as long.
