i sent an email in response to an enquiry to the services we provide and i never proof read before sending the mail.the enquirer responded back within two working days asking to meet me which i obliged and we set up an appointment,he is a gentle and pleasant personality and i would love to have him as a client.after the meeting,he joked about my email saying "who sent the response email?"i answered its me,he smiled and said i never knew you could speak so smoothly how come your mail is full of errors?imagine my embarrassment?i went back to check my sent mail box and could not believe such magical and grammatical error and murderer i committed in the mail,i quickly sent another mail to say how sorry i was with the mail and how wonderful it will be for him to patronise our business so we can correct the errors in the mail with quality service,he replied saying "i believe you"Do you proof read your emails before hitting the send key?

Yes, I proof read, not only for spelling but to make sure it reads right and that there are no grammatical errors. I even correct forwards that are sent to me by others, before I send them back out again! But then... I was a Secretary/PA for many years! old habits die hard, my friend. Brightest Blessings.

I know, it is unprofessional to make mistakes in the emails, but I have so many of them on the daily basis, that I cannot afford to proofread them. Sometimes, it brings a smile from the customer or my management. Last week, my manager refused to provide "price sh*t" to me:)

Yeah. I proof read them sometimes but not all of the time. I wish I took more time to do so because I do make some typing errors in some of them. I mainly do it when I am really tired. I have also sent some things in an email that should have been posted or typed in another area. It was too late to see it when I already sent it though.

I do try to proofread every email! It comes natural me, as I was good in spelling and grammar! Typos do happen, and can be easily corrected online. It has to make sense so I read it again to make sure it does!
