why are people so negative?

I cant help wonder why it is easier to be negative than positive. Its easy to forget how fortunate we all are. We take things for granted and sometimes think our lives suck when somewhere on the other side of the globe some poor person is in a dire situation everyday just trying to stay alive and no doubt that person would have more than be happy to trade lives with us. Why is it that we arent happy with what we have?

Why people are so negative??? Because they always compare what they have or where they are now to their family or friends. This makes them think negative that they are no good because someone if better than them. Because they are not contented of who they are, or where they are now. People always want more. They are never satisfied. People always want to complicate simple things. Some thinks they are born negative. It's really a choice. Its up to you if you want to be negative. Me??? I am a positive thinker. Take care

I am a reformed negative person. When i was younger i had a few bad things happen to me, and so i became a negative person. It is easier to be negative and feel sorry for yourself sometimes. I am a positive person now, but it was hard to change. I had to change my whole thought patterns, which is hard when you have lived a certain way for so long. But i am a much happier person now. I still have negative days, as most people do when stress catches up with you, but i always return to my new happy self.

yea. it takes a long time to get over some things for me. I hate it when out of nowhere the memories of them pop up time and time again. I have to do other things to get my mind off it and try to be happy. Thanks for your thoughts.

i understand where you are coming from. I would cry too. I just got to a point where i had to let go and move on. I couldn't keep putting myself through those emotions anymore. I was too drained. You cant force yourself to get over something though, it has to be the right time for you. Things will get better for you.

hi. i also ask that question. i also admit that sometimes i feel negative despite what i have. i think it is because we are not content of who we are and of what we have. sometimes it is also easier to comlain than appreciate what we have. i guess we must all try to be thankful of what we have.

that is true. maybe we need to think over our situation on a bigger scale and that way we can perhaps see that we may in fact have everything we truly want already.

as a human being, i must admit that being negative is my first reaction to things. this is a bad habit, if you'd ask me...but sometimes it's hard avoiding being this.

i know how you feel. It is hard sometimes to see any good at all but ironically you realise how much we've really got once we see how little others have.

it is human nature to want more . some people really have nothing from the start and it eats them alive . some people can pull themselves up.
