It comes from England and sells for 85 pounds which is about 200 US dollars.
"Its cost is down to the Wagyu beef that makes up most of the filling, packed in a 24-hour fermented sour dough bread.
There have been at least five advance orders placed for the 21oz (595g) meal.
Wagyu cattle are one of the most expensive breeds in the world.
The Japanese cows are raised on a special diet, including beer and grain.
They are supposed to be regularly massaged with sake, the Japanese rice wine, to tenderize the flesh."
It's owner says it is a sandwich for snobs.
I know I would buy that sandwich no matter how much money I had and what kind of beef it came from, to me, a cow, is a cow, is a cow.
If you had the money would you buy this sandwich?
How much is the most you would ever pay for a sandwich?
I don't think I would ever go over 5.00 for a sandwich, remember there are no extras, no drink, no fries just the sandwich.

I would never spend that much money on one sandwich, no matter how much money i have. With that money i could take all my friends out to our favorite burger joint, and still have enough for extras. And besides i have simple taste.

I can have all the money in the world.I can't see myself paying for a sandwhich that cost 200 dollars.I can give that money to charity or someone who really needs it.

I have paid a lot for a sandwich just go to any amusement park and you will spend more than other places. I'll admit never $200 for just a sandwich! Its to high for me. I would pay up to $10.00 for a sandwich when I'm really hungry.
I have heard that people are willing to pay anything for something new. This sure does prove there is somebody out there for this beef.

yes people would pay almost anything for something new or to show off that they can afford to be for such extravagance, but it is a crying shame to me.

No way wagyu! No way am I gonna be conned by you, wagyu!
Food is just for us to replenish our energy for our day to day activities. It is simply not meant to be so expensive!
For this sandwich selling for 200 bucks, it goes beyond the level of food. It is catering to fussy taste buds of possibly pretentious people and I certainly wouldn't eat it unless I turn filthy rich!

Even if I turned filthy rich, I would not want it. All our food ends up in the same place anyway, I cannot see flushing that much money.

ohmygoodness no way would I pay that much for a sandwich no matter what is in it.I am too frugal for that nonsense. the most Ihave paid for a hamburger fries and coke was six dollars at Carls Jr. andit was not as good as Burger Kings either. My forbears were scottish and I have inherited thier sense of thrift thank goodness. I have to live on a small budget so I do shop wisely. I usually do my own cooking but ocassionally I do eat out and I watch what it costs.

For a sandwich, I would pay no more than 3 or 4 bucks, it would be a cold day in hell before I ever paid this amount for a sandwich!!
That is totaly insane, but I guess if you are rich and have nothing better to do with your time and money than but a $200 sandwich then go at it lol..

I would pay around almost 6 for a sandwhich as long as it came with a drink and extras. Plus that's if I super size it to boot. I will take my black angus over any wabyu cow any day. I want my beef after it ate grains and hay, not one that's been feed booze on top of it's regular food. That's just $194 over my budget for a fast food burger, no matter what they call it, a piece of meat inside two pieces of bread is a burger.

I can't understand, or even comprehend spending that much money on a freaking sandwich. No matter what the cows been soaked in or what it's been fed that is way too much money for just one meal. I mean maybe if four or five people were eating, but that's still something like 50$ a plate, and still absurdly high.
Most I'm ever willing to pay for a sandwich is about 5$ on occasion somewhere around 10$, but you'd have to count subway as a sandwich.

I could do at least two weeks food shopping for the whole family for that amount of money so I for one will definately not be placing an order for this sandwich! The most I will usually pay for a sandwich out is usually about £2.50 and even that I think is a bit much. Ellie :D

your right it is two weeks grocery money, I can't understand how the rich could just waste money like that, when so many people are needy.

Isn't that weird we got it in our news here in Canada and yet you didn't hear about it. Goes to show you how exclusive this restaurant is. Yes your whole family eating that sandwich then still being hungry for something else after it.

Wow thats an expensive sandwich, I don't see it being worth it tho. I would never spend anywhere near that on any food item, max maybe 5-10$ depending on how big and delicious it was. I would like to know why someone would buy something they can't keep for so much? I don't know I couldn't.

I would rather give the money to buy a great meal for a homeless shelter than spend it that way. I would have a hard time going over five for just a sandwich, myself. This is interesting, as I am preparing the food for a graduation reception for my friends' two children. There is a specialty sandwich at a local shop that we are trying to duplicate, or even improve upon. At this point it will still come out to about $1.65 per sandwich. I think that is expensive.

There is no way I would ever consider paying that much for a sandwich. That is outragious. They should take that money and help other people who cannot afford the smallest amounts of food. I think $3.00 for a sandwich is the most that I would pay.

Wow that is WAY to much for a sandwich. I would be the richest person in the world and I would not pay that! That is just pure craziness. Think of all the starving people in this world that cannot even afford a sandwich that costs $2.00. At 2.00 per sandwich I could feed 100 hungry people. I'd rather do that then spend $200 on a sandwich.!
