Well, Dad, I think a best friend is someone you can share your secrets with. You can trust them with anything, and you even think of them as family. Sometimes, your best friend is your family, but well, in our case, that's not always true, because we're crazy.

I agree. I think a best friend is that person who's always there no matter what.Someone you can see yourself sitting on the porch talking about grandkids with.Someone that you have history with.

i started a discussion about friends too. for me friend is like blood. it sustains life yet it is not always visible but comes out everytime you are wounded. friends too are like diamonds precious but rare. i can say i am a true friend, but it is really hard to find someone who would be true to you as a friend. i guess i will be just sticking with my children. they are my best friends

I think you are right.Best friend is one that you can call on any time of the day.Even when you don't contact each other for sometime but ones you call her you just pickup where you stop.
