As PC is to hardware; Browsers, MS office, windows and the like are to software. This are non-tangible wares of a computer system. The hardware is useless without the software and vise versa. In the same way as these two wares are useless without the 3rd ware - human ware. like myLot system: hardware+software+users, missing any component ain't myLot.)

Computer software is a general term used to describe a collection of computer programs, procedures and documentation that perform some tasks on a computer system.
