This was my 11 year old's movie selection for the weekend. I read a little bit about it before we rented it to make sure it had a good message. Some of the language I was a little shocked at, at first but then I was thinking about it and unfortunately this is how our younger society is talking. Ugh. Every time my oldest tries to express herself like this I remind her that I don't want to hear it in the house, please respect me and follow this simple rule.
Both DH and I really liked the movie. It had a great message, in my opinion.
And yes, I did cry at the end.
I loved the scene when she had to face her parents and tell them she was pregnant. I will not spoil it for anyone.
My 6 1/2 year old had some questions, which I thought was great.
Some people might think I am crazy for letting a 6 year old watch it but in our school her kindergarten teacher that she went to for reading last year, was pregnant and not married. So we had lots of questions we had to answer last year. Then more questions this year when the teacher did get married.
So this is a great movie and a must see. Rent it at redbox for a $1.00. And if you are lucky enough to stumble across a free code, even better. We did and so it was free for us to watch.

I'm not a big Jason Bateman fan but he played his part so well.

I haven't watch this movie yet. Some of my friends already did and they say it's good. I would love to spend time for this movie whenever I get a copy. Or maybe on cable, whenever would that be.
I saw the trailer a couple of times before and I like it so I'm hoping I won't miss it.

I don't think you are crazy for letting her watch it. She should know everything. I strongly believe kids need to start learning at an early age now a days. I mean I wouldn't have dreamed about doing that 25 years ago when my daughter was born, but shoot right now things are SO DIFFERENT!
I just can't believe the change from when I was growing up to now. Hubby has a friend who's daughter is pretty smart, she has dropped out of school and was already in trouble with the law (in home arrested with cuff on ankle) because she has a bad mouth and spoke out to the police taking up for her friend.
The friend went home, she was arrested. No respect is the problem there and also hanging with the wrong crowd. I told hubby she needs a job and since school will be letting out for summer, she needs to go grab one before those kids get them all.

You Bet.. I loved the movie and ah .. the OST is cool too.. I'm listening to it right now. I loved the song which starts off the movie title and the one which both the "dudes" sing at last..I just loved the way they handle the situation and how she and he get to understand that the child is their and have to give it love. I kinda was shocked at what happens at last. Songs are cool.. The girl looks cool. Overall I rate it at 8/10. A must watch for the new Gen..

I was shocked at the ending, I didn't think it was going to end the way it did. I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

It was a very well done movie. When I heard it won at the Academy Awards, I was a little worried. But it was done so well. Hopefully this will be a classic that generations to come can enjoy.

It is a very good movie. I honestly think they portrayed Juno older than her being 16 year old.

Yeah Juno was a great movie I watched it a couple months back. I did think it was coming a little out of left field but it was really interesting none the less. It might not be the best choice for a 6 year old but as long as you watched it with them and answered their questions and guided them .. it probably did more good than harm. I find it worse when people just let their kids watch anything and never talk about the images these kids are seeing. Is redbox available to Canada? sounds nice renting a video for 1$.

I just checked and it doesn't look like Redbox is available in Canada, sorry.
I agree with you I can't stand when parents let the little ones watch movies without any guidance. I was in a first grade class this past week and this little boy kept talking about Freddy Kruger and the Halloween movies. I love Nightmare on Elm Street movies but they are not allowed in my house until my girls are in their late teens, if at all.

Finally got a chance to watch it. It's enjoyable but not as great as I thought it would be. Diablo Cody's witty script is a big bonus though, it makes the character lovable and relatable without making them look foolish.

Juno is just a great movie, I liked the way the movie is made. A great subject which can happen to the teenagers is shown in humorous manner and also good message with it.
Ellen Page as Juno did a great job in the movie ....
