I stayed up too late last night

LOL! I'm draggin' this morning because I stayed up too late. Why am I laughing about it? Well, in my "wild child" days, staying up too late on a Saturday night meant staying out and having fun until the bars closed then going to a party until 4am. But last night, I stayed up until 1am because I was having good clean fun here on myLot. The best thing is that now when I stay up "late," I don't wake up with a hangover. *sigh* I will admit that at times I do miss those irresponsible, single, childless days. How have your habits and routines changed over the years? Or have they?

Mine have changed an awful lot in the last 8 years, before I had my second child, Friday and Saturday nights I would be out partying the night away. A night was not considered a success unless we were absolutely bladdered!! Saturday would be spent feeling rough, but then come 8pm I would be out again, hangover forgotten about for another few hours. Then Sunday would come and I would just be crashed on the couch all day unable to function properly at all!! Now I am lucky if I go out once every 6 months, I went out the other week for the first time since New Year and I did not dare drink too much because I did not want the hangover!! When I was out I did miss not being able to do it more often, but I just could not cope with the hangover unless I could stay in bed all day, which is not possible with 4 kids, 3 of whom are still young.

LOL. Hung over or not, when I'm exhausted from working late and getting home even later, it seems like the kids are somehow louder in the morning the tireder I am. Don't you agree? I'll be glad when they're in their teen years and want to sleep late.

I'm a confirmed internet addict and I spend hours late at night in front of my laptop. Sometimes I would stay up past midnight, having been totally engrossed with my online activities, that I wake up bleary-eyed the next day. So I totally can relate how it is to wake up in the morning, slightly groggy, because I spent too much time playing online. My only complaints with such activities is that my eyes would be shot and considering that at work, I will be in front of a computer too, then that is painful. I need to get new interests before I totally destroy my eyes, but in the mean time, I'm back online and its getting late in the evening. I guess I don't learn my lessons too well.

I love the weekends for the same reason. Unfortunately, my children are early risers (I am, too, but I really like a bit of peace and quiet before I start the day), and start on the, "What are we going to do today, Daddy?" questions.

I remember those days, and I don't miss the hangovers lol If I stay up til midnight these days that is staying up late, but I still get up early. I have to say I don't miss those single days, I have an amazing man in my life, my daughters are grown with their own lives, and we have his teenage daughter every other weekend.
