As soon as I start seeing those nice warm sunny days I start thinking about camping. Sure I would like to have a different kind of vacation as well, but camping is also something the recharges my batteries and leaves me feeling so much better. I used to go camping almost every weekend from June to mid September, but the last 3 years have been even more complicated than the previous ones and we didn't have a chance to go camping at all. I am missing it. THe sounds , the smells, paddling along on a beautiful calm day.... - I guess I am not exactly missing the setting up the tents, the cooking, the washing... but even that would be better if done in a nice campsite with the birds singing to me and the breeze combing my hair.... Do you like camping? Do you go camping often? Do you use a tent or a trailer when you go camping?

It is April 21 today and camping has normally already started.I look out tmy window and see that it is snowing again.Since this area MAY get snow 3 or 4 times a year and NEVER this late,it has been a warped season already(Sat we got a foot of snow). We take the van and go camping that way now.Over the seasons apparently someone lowered the ground making it more difficult to get up in the morning. We use cots in the van now. Oh.....and about the snow??.....................AAARRRGGGHHHH

When I use to hike the West Coast Trail I got the chance to sleep under the tarp and stared into space at wonderment.I had the tent set up,but it was full of campers(one of the tents was missing).A heavy rain fell but I was nice and dry all night. So could you PLEASE send some warm weather here so I can sleep under the stars again?

My partner and I have several different tents between us. My favourite is probably the easiest to put up and take down - LOL I do enjoy camping, although when the weather turns bad I often wish I was in a hotel sometimes. Our holidays are usually taken in the tent, it's more economical and we can go where we want without being tied to one particular place

LIke you we have several different tents. The easiest ones are the favorite choice but now with the kids and all we have this big one with 4 rooms that takes some more work but ends up paying up if we stay in the same campground for more than just one or two days. Also like you, sometimes I crave having a holiday in a hotel where I do nothing.... But I wouldn't like to do that all the time, I would miss the camping feeling :)

It has been camping time here for the past few weeks. I wanted to go this weekend but they were calling for rain the whole time. Well, it ended up raining a lil bit yesterday and cloudy with some sun the rest of the time. Pisses me off cause now would be bout the time I would be coming back. So far, they are calling for sun all next weekend and going to get the tent out and everything I'll need for camping and head out with my daughter and dog this Friday after work. I want to camp as much as possible.

I know you will have a great time :) I really need to go camping at least once this year. I know our finances are in real bad shape but just a weekend at least. We'll see how it works

If you are using a tent, shouldn't cost much to camp at all. Only things that cost us money is the food and the gas to get to campsite and back. Oh..thank you for the best response.

I adore camping, I've been itching to ever since the weather's gotten a bit nicer. I always use a tent or else sleep under the open sky. I've missed camping alot, it's always made me feel sooo much better in comparison to usual days. We don't get vacations very often, and it's more likely that I'll camp out in our backyard this year than anything else (drat being here in the city _

Before I always used tents or even the open sky specially when we're at the beach:) Nowadays although I still like and use the tents sometimes I wish for a real bed and think about my old tent trailer. I think as we get older something a bit more comfortable is allowed. But I will not give up camping, it's my way to recharge. I never though about camping on my backyard.. now that will be a fun idea :):):)

I'm counting down the days til our first camping trip, Memorial Day weekend is usually when we kick off the camping season. My daughter and her hubby will be joining us this year. We go camping at least 2 - 3 weekends a month from June to September. I love it, even sitting up isn't bad, we use a tent. One of the good things is he does all the cooking lol. But like you, it is so relaxing and recharges me for the next week of work. I work for the forestry service, fire patrolman, except I'm grounded at the moment to in-station duties, due to an injury on a wildland fire we had last week.

Hubby does a lot of the cooking when we go camping. And he does the dishes too :) Back campgrounds are a bit different from here because space is at premium. SO the sites are not big actually as long as there is a 3 meter distance from tent to tent - sometimes even less in peak season - everything goes LOL BUt each campground has something I haven't found here yet. Like they have the shower stations and the Washrooms, they also have the "cleaning stations" it's usually a covered area where there are either sinks for doing dishes or tanks for washing clothes. ALthough women are often found on the laundry area, men are usually the designated dish washers. IT's their time to meet and talk while doing the dishes :)

Oh that all sounds lovely and nice and I would love to go and have my own tents and trailer, my partner really wants to do stuff like that with me. He has already taken me fishing and that was fun but I would also like to go on a boat one day too because I have never been and am really excited to experience it. As for camping yeah it would be so much fun but I would never want to do it alone. That would be too scary for me.

I prefer to be with someone else, but I remember a time where I went camping by myself. I really wanted to be alone at that time and although there was a lot of people around I was able to keep to myself for a bit.

I don't think I have a favorite season. But yes fall is great for camping. Not exactly in here - for me - but back home yes, it was a wonderful time to go camping:)

nope either i get a cabin or the deal is off as the beds areusually lumpy but its much better than sleeping on the ground. i love a campfire and singing and telling stories and eating somemores and fishing but give me a cabin please.

I agree that a bed can be more comfortable, but to be honest the grow is fine too as long as we have a good support underneath. I would prefer a tent trailer to a cabin, because it would be mine.

I can not wait to camp. We have a popup but are thinking of getting a drivable camper. Just yesterday we started a campfire in our backyard. The smell made me want to go camping so bad. The weather is getting nice and I just can not wait.

I know the feeling :):):) Pop up is nice and it's like having all the comforts of home. WE used to have only tents. THen we had a tent trailer that was actually very nice. But it was a bit old and it retired a few years back. Now we're back to tents :)
