How Often Do You Clean Out Your Closet?

I like to clean my closet out every 6 months or twice a year and try to get my sons to do the same. I always star in january right after christmas and then later on in mid summer. I take out anythingn that is damaged and toss it out and anything that I simply no longer seem to wear I wash and send away to this charity drive that runs through my church, same goes for my sons things.

I always clean it out actually. Every time I dress up and rummage on things in my closet, it usually won't look like it has been before I open it. hehehe.. I have problems when dressing up. I can't settle on first the first fit. hehehe.. But right away or the next day, I clean it right away. I hate it when I can't seem to find a single tank top.

I clean my closet out a couple times a yr and usually seasonal actually..Like I just did it a couple weeks ago and I'll do it again come fall...Clothes that still fit and I wear I pack away (like in the spring I pack away my winter stuff)...clothes I dont wear anymore or that dont fit me anymore I give to the "Sally Anne" store..

wow i am happy if i get in there once a year!! i need to get in there now because things are falling out,falling over and off the hangers. but wow when do i find time to do that. with three kids, a full time job, starting my own business!! i am lucky i remember to breath let alone clean out my closets! although i really need to get in there. thanks for reminding me

My mom just gave me a GREAT IDEA today! We were talking about "cleaning out the clothes closets" and she told me to reverse all the hangers in the closets so they are backwards....then when you wear an item, you put the hanger back the proper way. At the end of the season/year (your choice), whatever hangers are still backwards and you haven't worn in that season or year....you should consider getting rid of it!! What do you think? I live in an apartment and I just put my clothes that I want to get rid of in the laundry room and somebody in the building always scoop them up....especially kids clothes!

Hiiii There I think I am one of those lazy people who only clean their closet when it is really reall messy or when we have some kind of a festival or occasion.

Not very often, if I clean it out it means that I have to replace what I am getting rid of and I cannot afford too!I have recently done the kids though which was quite funny, because they are 7 & 6 and I was finding clothes in there for ages 2 & 3!! Which shows how long it is since I actually really went through their things, best part was these clothes still fitted them they must have been growing with them!

When it gets really messy. Or I will clean it out when I need to make room for something new that needs to be in it.
