I do not know if anyone on MyLot has seen the commercial series that Mac computers have been airing. Mac is the laid back guy, were the PC guy is uptight, and dorky. My questions is would you rather have a Mac, or a PC as a computer. One other question does this commercial series make you think that people who buy PC's are dorks were Mac owners are cool. I have alway felt that Mac users where the dork's, but that might just be me.

I've never tried a Mac that I like. Personally, I think their commercial conveys the opposite message. If you want to have a good job, dress in a suit, use a real computer, buy a PC. If you don't know how to comb your hair, want to be a loser living at home the rest of your life, buy a Mac because they look cool but don't work.
Here's the way I see it. Mac's are one of those things that are supposed to be so easy to use. But they're so easy to use that they're difficult. You can't do anything with them. There are so many file types that they don't recognize. So many things you buy to go with your computer that are not compatible with them. It is so hard to change any settings that really matter (not just talking about changing the desktop picture here). Anything made on a Mac, my PC will recognize it. Any file type, throw it at my computer and it can take it. Mac users always have to ask if I can convert it to something for them because whatever I send doesn't work. If you ask me, Macs are junk and no real computer person would use one.

The PC is in a way more suited to the "everyman," because it gets more exposure, there's more software available, and it can be less expensive since many companies are allowed to make parts for it. Though Mac has a reputation of being more user-friendly, the price is a lot higher than the average PC, and that pushes the average buyer away. A Mac user wouldn't necessarily be completely dorky, but at least geeky enough to know that there are other OS's better than Windows.

It is my observation that many Mac buyers are people not spending their own money. That is, Mac's are bought by schools, institutions, and etc. The PC is simply more for the money and contrary to popular belief, Mac's have problems, too. So, it happens that when people are dealing with their own money, they frequently by the PC, just like me. Note, I'm not saying there are not some individuals who buy Mac's. There just are not as many as buy PC's.
