1. " perfectionist " 2. " unpredictable " 3. " me first " 4. " best friend " 5. " complete " Many mothers are a combination of the above , but majority fit into one category than others. It is by understanding how our mother's legacy affects us today that we are able to fathom some of our deepest feelings and motivations , and bind ourselves to the relationships we are truly worthy of.

I don't know, it would help if I had a definition of each one. I'm definitely not a perfectionist or unpredictable or a best friend. Me first? Well sometimes because I believe you can't take care of your family unless you take care of yourself. But certainly not all the time or even most of the time. So I guess, complete...

The "complete" mother is one who is secure, insightful and nurturing. You are true. You can't take care of your family unless you take care of yourself.A complete mother understands her child's needs and desires and guides them toward their own personal fulfillment and growth. Her child grows up to be someone empowered , navigating the transitions from childhood to adolescence to adulthood with great ease. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You are appreciated.

Well I think Ive got to share some of my thoughts here. Have to make my mom as an example. She could be categorized as unpredictable especially now that shes old already. My siblings are having a hard time understanding her but I fully understand her. She may not be the perfect mother but we will never be who we are now if not for her. So out of her being unpredicatable I could still call her a complete mother.

That is the love of learning your Mother mothering styles Long.Open and non-directive,she allows children the freedom to do for themselves and quietly encourages them to believe they can do it.

I am not a mother myself, but I would like to say that my wife is likely to belong to the group of no.4 - Best Friend. I wouldn't dare to say that my wife is a perfectionist, although I am but i think she belongs more to the "best friend" group.

Thank you Ricky for sharing your wifes mothering styles.Sometimes it seems like the whole world wants to weigh in on what makes a "good mother".As a Sociology professor Family experts say the fastest growing group of mothers is the "best-friend mother" -- and it can only end badly according to clinical psychologist Stephan Poulter, who works with family relationships.Kids need a parent , not another friend , and this leaves them motherless.

i have a son, who turned 1 this year. i think im more of me first and a strict. me first, because how can i take care of my son if i neglect myself? and strict because i rather keep him on his crib so he wont get any bumps.

Complete first as my sole aim is to keep my children healthy happy and feeling loved but im also a "me first" in that sometimes i put myself first because you have to we deserve to, to remember who we are and not just a mummy
