I ask this question because the place I live has been taken by storm by this drug. I myself included along with my husband. I know there has to be many more people out there who has been hooked on this crap. Almosst all off our friends have also and alot still are on this. We have been off Oxy's for 5 years because we went to a methadone clinic. The thing about the clinic is they never informed us of the dangerous of the methadone. Basically it makes me sick to see a fresh faced 18 year old kid standing in line at the clinic. They seem to think it is cool for some reason. Alot of people get methadone confused with methamphetimine and it is so not the same in any way. The sad thing is my town is just sweeping all the oxy usage under the rug. The director from the methodone clinic tried to educate the town I live in and they told him it would not happen to go back home basically. He drove from outta state to try to educate our local government. But my town is all crooked as heck and it's all who ya know. I can't stand this place for that reason only. Is your town that way ? I know that Tennessee and Kentucky, and Virginia is not the only ones who went through this. I used to be ashamed to admit I use to use oxy's. I find more prejuduce and finger pointing when folks figure out I am on methadone. I am over that. I know it saved my life as well as thousands of others. Sure Methodone has a horrible name cause of all the overdoses, but these people has got to learn you cannot mix it with nerve pills(xanax) especially. One day you may mix it with two nerve pills next day one nerve pill with it mixed will take you away and leave a very angry grieving family. I would like to know your stories with this horrible addictive drug, and how your life has changed. Since I got off oxy's and on methadone I have went to college finished my degree and waiting to take a National Certification test to get a professional license. I am now 31 years old. If you are still on the Oxys and would like help there is help,You must want it though.

I do take Oxycontin. I have been taking it for years because I have been disabled because of back surgurys. I have been disabled for over 22 years. But I would not say that I am addicted to the Oxycontin., as I do not take them all of the time. But I do know of people that are addicted to them.I am very happy that you were able to get off of the pills and make something of your life.
