I am confused today.
my child doctor ask me to have my little boy Zidni circumcised since he has long foreskin. She said that would cause infection in the longrun.
i feel sorry to my boy. since at this age he is really active and i think it might be dangerous if he got circumcised then he can't stay put without crawling or move that will slow the healing process.
pls advise me.

Hi siZidni,
I know how's your feel about this. I felt the same way when one of my little twins had been diagnosed by doctor, he got the hemangium. It was found when he was 1.5 months (5 years ago). Could you imagine that? I didn't know what the hemangium was. I visited 5 best surgerion doctors in Jakarta, all doctors suggested us to do the operation right away to my little boy. So, my little boy got operation when he was 2 months and it's okay. My nephew, he got circumcised when he was 2 month and now, he's fine and my other nephew, he got the circumcised when he 1.5 years, so there's nothing different right? So, Sizidni, you don't have to worry, just pray to GOD to get the operation smoother and your son will be recovery soon. One more thing trust the doctor. Hope everything will be going alright friends.

you'd be surprised at just how well they will heal. My child got circumcised and as well had to have surgery there when he was a year old and as well, he just had another surgery a week ago both for hypospadius. kids usually heal quickly.

it is very common here. and more times then not, alot of parents do it not for religion reasons. there are so many pros and cons to getting it done. is the childs father circumcised? that is a big factor to consider. alot of parents want their child to be like the father. another is of course cleanlyness. although, there have been alot of studies lately to show that it really doesn't make a difference that much. as long as it is kept clean under the foreskin, a boy can be just fine not circumcised. it really is just a personal choice unless medically necessary. dont be pressured into doing it if you and the father do not feel comfortable with it. talk to another doctor, get a second opinion.

The circumcision shouldn't bother him at all, it should not get in the way of any of his activities. However, you will have to make sure to keep the area really clean while it heals. My son was circumcised as a baby and it was no big deal.

If it is dangerous to be stay at that situation, and it will determent his development in the future, then he should take the operation. Be strong for your baby, ok?
