Romeo's Blue Skies

Romeo and Alfredo - To get the money to pay for a doctor for his father, Romeo bravely sells himself as a chimney sweep. On the way to Milan he meets Alfredo, a mysterious boy on the run heading to the same fate. Upon being separated and sold to their new bosses, the two boys swear eternal friendship. Romeo has to learn the hardships of a chimney sweep's job. His boss' daughter, Angeletta, is a girl with a heart illness who is not allowed to leave her room. She asks Romeo to bring the blue sky to her. Alfredo unites the sweeps in a secret union, the "Black Brothers" to face together the "Wolf Pack" gang, who constantly attack them. With their help, Romeo succeeds in bringing Angeletta's dream to her. Soon the brotherhood faces more hardships than cruel bosses or street hooligans. Alfredo reveals his secret: he has sold himself in the name of his sister Bianca. It is now up to the "Black Brothers" to stand up for the truth, to save Bianca and to protect their leader's life with their own.

ROMEO NO AOISORA is based on the novel FRATELLI NERI (THE BLACK BROTHERS) by Lisa Tetzner. Nippon Animation used the German translation, DIE SCHWARZEN BRUDER as the basis for the story; the novel has not been translated into English. Nippon Animation's official English title of ROMEO NO AOISORA is "ROMEO AND THE BLACK BROTHERS." - http://www.ex.org/2.3/04-romeo1.html I have watched it over again when they recently aired it again on television. I think I'd still be seeing this again since my elder brothers have already been watching this since they were still in their high school years. Well, if the conditions were the same for you, that someone close to you is in a dilema and the only way to earn money that may help that person would be to sell yourself and do manual labor in a distant place, would you go and make a contract or stay with your loved ones and figure out something else to solve the crisis?

i don't think i'm brave enough and good enough to sacrifice myself and sell myself just to help someone dear to me. i mean, its not in my character to do something like that. and i'm scared of manual labor. i don't think i would be able to handle it. i might die in it. i think i would just stay and find other solutions rather than sacrificing myself and my youth. i think Romeo was aired when i was already in college. and that's every morning right? and i can't watch tv during mornings. and even if i do, i prefer the usual anime, not the classics. but i have watched a lot of classic-themed animes like Anne of Green Gables, Daddy Long Legs, Secret Garden, Cedie, Princess Sarah, Remi, Little Women and Huckleberry Finn. most of them really moved me and brought me to tears especially Remi.

Shoukoushi Cedie - Shoukoushi Cedie ("Little Prince Cedie") is a Japanese anime series produced by Nippon Animation in 1988 and was broadcasted on the World Masterpiece Theater, an animation staple that showcased each year an animated version of a different classical book or story. The series is based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's book, "Little Lord Fauntleroy".

Wow, thanks for responding to this discussion of mine I think I have watched some of the titles that you have mentioned. Who wouldn't know Cedie(Shoukoushi Cedie or Cedie, and Munting Prinsipe)? I think I am not familiar with Anne of Green Gables though. There are lots of anime classics that are being aired daily by that channel two network here in our country. I think they'll just keep on doing that since, aside from it being convenient for them, the story and the morals in it are quite appropriate for those early watching viewers who are mostly children. I see that you'd prefer to find alternative solutions on facing problems concerning loved ones if such conditions were quite similar.

Hey, that ain't a bad idea at all. You have started a discussion wherein if any anime has persuaded anyone to try out a sport.. why not, any anime that encouraged you to buy a book? Female classic.. I guess I just didn't meet the time slot for the show.

But it would really be interesting to see how Angelita would look like all grown up Make me think a lot of young anime characters on how'd they look if they all grew up..

Yup that's what probably I'm going to do. Well I remember that in this anime he and his first love got separated and never met again right o well I think he's better off with Bianca than Angelita.
