and you just found out that the email address used by the person was different all the times, aka ... bogus email addresses? some email providers are just not too good in filtering such message. for example, the spammers would promote you some sites about certain drugs and then they would change the i character with 1, a character with 4 so the filter would just not recognize the email as spam? I wish I could report the spammers to somewhere ...

Just flag is with spam button if your email at yahoo. I did that everytime i got and they end up at my bulk folder. Not my inbox folder. And also yahoo will help to detect another email (the same user but different address)and prevent it. just forward the entire body and subject of the email to our Abuse team at abuse@yahoo-inc.com.(if you have it at yahoo).

yes, spam button will also help, but some modification or different ip (like using proxy address) will just escape the filtering system. but you're right. I still can forward the email to report the sender to abuse section of the email provider. perhaps they can help in solving the problem.

I hate when this happens. It is a shame there are not more sites out there that Block some of the Spam Email. I know like someone else suggested Gmail is a good Email address for blocking spam. But even they are becoming a Good one for people to use to try and Spam you. Wonder why some people have to stoop this low? I agree with it does get annoying, and there should be an easier way to turn someone in besides blocking all the Emails as they come in.

well back then hotmail had feature to only have the approved senders coming to our inbox, but what if our friends have sent from other email addresses? I wonder if the spam cops have better filtering tips ... * sigh * I cannot just change email addresses again.

well, some cases gmail is good, but the spammers sometimes could trick the filter by doing the 1 for i or l, @ or 4 for a, etc.

At the end of the day I would proberly just change my email address, it's just not worth the hassle.
