How to burn a normal Avi/wmv file to DVD video?

Anyone wish to share what free tools avaliable can burn the files into dvd video ?

Yes Nero does convert from avi to dvd format.Nero is good. But if you put some money you will get excellent software like Sonic Record Now.It is use friendly.

I don't know about free tools. I use nero for burning avi, dvds. Nero allows burning dvds even if you do not bought the software. It does not allow other advanced options if you use their software without serial. So you can use nero for burning dvds free

You could try DVD Flick licensed under GNU, http://www.dvdflick.net/ It can convert, join, add subtitle, add secondary audio and burn.
