Bad Neighbours

Ive been living in our house for a bit over 5 years now but in that time i havent had the best neighbours. So far they have cut down our trees and some of our fruit in our garden near their fence (i could tell that they cut it because it the branches had a smooth surface that could have only been made by a knife). They also kept watch of our fruit that grew from our trees and cut them down on some occassions, but the thing that really annoyed me was that when we got a dog they came over and physically hurt out dog. In the morning the dog was limping and one of its ears were sorta dangling/flopping.
What should i do? I thought about complaining to our local council but am afraid that they might escalate their attacks on us.

You definitely need to report this. If they are hurting your dog then they have definitely crossed the line. They also came onto your property without invitation and did a member of your family physical harm. Report this and complain. I'm not sure about the laws wherever you are, but you definitely need to stand up and say something. I understand your fear that the attacks might get worse, but this is no way to live. Also, if you just accept it and do nothing, the attacks could still get worse because they think you will do nothing. It might even make them more brave and daring. So stand up for yourself and your family.

We're thinking of installing cameras there so that there wont be any lack of proof when we report the police. They've just hurt my dog again just then. I could hear the distinct sound of him being hit and a yelp following it. I REALLY need to do something soon!

I would go to the police if I were you. If you are sure that they are hurting your dog and cutting your fruit trees I would contact your local police. There is no excuse for these people to be disrespecting your things. Good luck and keep us posted.

we had to keep our dog at the front yard because of this. The thing is about reporting this kinda thing to the police is that we have no solid evidence... the area i am in is notorious for its high level of crime and if they were accused of doing such things to me then theyd probably deny it, in the past when we complained about another incident about the neighbours the authorities did nothing. we complained of a tree taht needed to be cut down or it would pose a risk to our house in a storm but they didnt do anything until a bad storm inevitabley knocked over the tree and it landed on our house.
