Julian Beever is an English artist who is famous for his art on the pavement of England, France, Germany, Australia, USA and Belgium.
Beever gives his drawings an amazing 3D illusion.
It must be awesome to be able to create a drawing like this with just a few pieces of chalk.
So. have you ever seen one of his drawings in person?
It gives a whole new meaning to "sidewalk chalk" that we buy our kids.

good morning nova,
that is such a cool photo! it looks nothing like what my kids can do with a piece of chalk. if i saw him doing this i would most definately pay him (if that is what he was asking for)and wait until he was finished to see his amazing image! in life we must stop and smell the flowers~

Hi shannonjyl. It is really amazing what he does. I have seen several of his drawings (in pictures) and am just awestruck by his talent. Some of them are much more detailed.
One was a picture of a hole in the pavement and people were actually sidestepping the hole so as not to fall in it. But, of course, it wasn't real.

Oh Nova I think his work is absolutely incredible. I can't believe it. I have seen pictures (not the real thing unfortunately) and he is fantastic. I don't know how he does it.
I had an email the other week from someone with the floor of the bathroom done in a 3D picture of someone falling through the floor to the ground far, far below and was asked if I could go to the bathroom looking at that! I am sure it is something that he would have done. It made you dizzy looking at it. And of course the answer is no I couldn't go to the bathroom with a floor painted like that. Even though my brain knew that there was solid ground below my feet my eyes would still be telling me that there were only clouds! Not a restfull place to be in - tee hee.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
