No they do not contain dog meat. They are made from beef, pork and/or chicken. There are also vegetarian varieties. The name "hot dog" is a shortened version of the original name...I have no idea how to spell it but they were originally named after those little dogs that are long and skinny...anyway it's a hard name to say or spell so it got shortened to "hot dogs".
I prefer mine with onions and ketchup on a bun. Some people also put mustard and relish on them. There are also used in a variety of dishes. "Pennies from Heaven" is a dish of white cream sauce of some sort with sliced hot dogs in it. Sliced hot dogs can also be added to spaghetti o's.

no lol a hot dog is a pork meat inside a bread..it can me also putted in the break with the meat french fries vegetables ketchup etc... tastes good but it isnt very good for health anyway ;)

hi sugarekh. you are in for a treat then.no dog meat in
hot dogs, just beef or pork or chicken .I have never
figured out why they are called hot dogs, and I have
eaten my share of hot dogs too. they are tasty specially
with mustard or ketchup on them cooked and put in to'
a hot dog bun. you must try them as they are delicious.

There is no dog meat in hot dogs. Hot dogs are made from either beef or pork.
