Personally when I want to buy something I look forward to going out, comparing prices, trying the products, clothes etc. I have heard that some families even do their grocery shopping online... I definately prefer the old fashioned way of shopping!! Anyone with me on this??

I love shopping online! I like looking through brands I know I can trust such as paperchase, and it is SO MUCH EASIER to browse through their online stores, tally the costs, and just "add to shopping cart"
My mum buys the family groceries at Tesco, it only takes about 20 minutes, she sets a convenient delivery time and then it is delivered! Sometimes there are 3-4 subsitutes, Sun Pat Peanut Butter replacing Sun Fields Peanut Butter or something, because they don't have the original in stock.
I love online shopping, or just browsing, but there are 2 exceptions.
Makeup ; I might buy online, but only if I have a sample of the exact product. How will you know the texture, the feeling, how light it is? The exact tone? Does it work with your skin?
I love going to Boots and testing all the samples like a little kid!
It's like a monthly ritual, hehe!
Clothes; You can't really tell the material quality or fitting from the photos they provide. What looks good on a model may not look good on you!
I vary in sizes from shop to shop, from UK size 8-10, and in one shop I was even size 12...
Plus, each shape needs a different fitting... I'm tall and slim, so clothes for petite people, or for shorter, curvier people, aren't the right shape, and you can't tell until it is delivered!
I usually try on 6 or 7 pieces of clothes in the shops before I find the perfect one, and it's worth it!
Otherwise how do I know if something is just right?
At the end of the day clothes/ show/ bags shopping is the best therapy for me, and shopping online JUST ISN'T THE SAME! ^^

hehe, yeh I guess most girls would agree that shopping cannot be done just sitting infront of a monitor
I guess most guys would agree to that as well for some products... even clothing...
It is even a way of entertaining yourself and a reason to get out of the house!!

Pluses:
No lines
No rude people
You don't have to get dressed
Sometimes the prices are lower
If you can get it without shipping and tax, woo hoo
If you know exactly what you want, you save time
No kids going "I want, I want"
Minuses:
Some things you just have to try on
Some times you have to get OUT
No shipping
Sometimes you just have to see the item
Sometimes it's just fun going out and looking around!

ive never done online shopping before, i guess its because i fear of not having the cash to pay for it. lol... but i rarely shop at malls myself. but if i do have the cash i would shop as long as my feet would keep walking. hahaha.. i would say i pick shopping the old fashioned way. i like roaming around the mall, watching the windows and touching the fabrics and seeing how it fits on me as i try on a piece of clothing. i like walking around the mall and 'people watch' as well. and i like taking 'shopping breaks' and probably go down to the food court and buy something to munch on or eat ice cream and etc. same thing goes with buying furniture, i like to see the furniture and touch it with my hands and inspect it thoroughly. online shopping can be a very good alternative though, if your not feeling up to going out you can just look it up on the internet. and its a great way to get discounts so ive heard also and you wont get sidetracked with other things on your 'to buy list'. plus, at the end of the day i would rather like saying, 'oh my feet are killing me from shopping' than 'oh my butt and fingers are kiling me from shopping'

I don't know, I never tried shopping online but I guess it would be a scary thing to do for the first timers like me. To think that you never have seen what you're paying for on how it really looks like in real. It might have some damage on some other areas not covered by the photo available on the web, right? it's an unsure thing to do. But maybe on some products, it'll be fun. Maybe one of these days, i'll try it jsut for the sake of trying. hehehe..

hey mgjhaud.. you are right.. Trust is also an issue... I guess if its a big well known store then you can trust them but if its a small name with no evidence that they can be trusted then you are kinda worried about your money... I have the same problem too... But I guess its good to try online shopping just so you know what its all about. Also for some products it is much easier to shop online...

I like online shopping because I can find everything I want from old, out print books to cool, plus size clothes. I don't buy food online accept for chocolates or hot sauce (for my stepfather; he collects them).

Hello rombi001, how are you doing? You asked if we like to do online shopping. Well, on groceries I don't know anywhere you can do that (except for non perishables). I love doing online shopping for clothes because many websites you can get them cheaper than the store. I love going to the grocery store, so I don't usually buy grocery items. So I agree, I like the old fashioned way in some instances.

I do enjoy the convience of online shopping but am always afraid of my information being stolen like my brothers was. Last year he found some fraudulant charges on his card, he was able to get it cancled but still had to pay some of the bill himself. I am just afrid of this hapening to me, seeing what all my brother had to go through I know it is something I never want to have to experience.

Well, there are good things and bad things about shopping online. If you get charged for shipping, that can be a deterrent. I prefer not to spend more on something for shipping. Also, you have to wait longer to actually have it. So, it is only convenient that you don't have to leave your house, get in your car, waste some gas, get out of your car, go into the store, look for the item, take it to a register and stand in line, pay for it and waste more gas going back home. Really, the only thing good about buying online is that it takes less time and wastes no gas but, if you have to pay for shipping, you waste money anyway. And, you have to wait until you actually have it and can use whatever it is.

I like shopping in stores but because I have a bad left arm and cannot carry heavy sacks anymore I am driven to shop for my groceries on line. I order from Albertsons and they deliver the next day and they do all the carrying for me. I often shop for odds and ends at my grocery shop.things that I can carry with no problems. I like shopping for clothes at the mall so I can see just what I want and try them all on first.

Am with you!!
Coz when u buy something online,
1. you are never sure of what you would get
2. your order gets delayed a lot of time
3. they never provide the facility of exchange/ alteration
4. most of the websites ask for Credit Card number which is not safe
Also, when you move around the market, you get to know about better brands and better products' availability, which is always not possible with online shopping!!
So,
CONVENTIONAL SHOPPING is BETTER

Online is sometimes is enjoyable and sometimes not? WhenI want to buy something I want to touch the article Im buying and in online shopping you can't do that. On other I find online shopping great when I can't find the articles in my shop and find it instantly on internet. All in all online shopping is great.

i think it is enjoyable.. you have to be sure of the site you shop with though and always be safe.
online stuffs sometimes are more unique and they are much much updated with the styles, etc. i have seen some good stuffs over the internet that i have not seen in shops in here.
my only worry is the delivery time, etc. it is quite hard waiting for the stuff you ordered when you have already paid for it.

I prefer in person shopping to online shopping most of the time, especially for things like clothes and shoes. I like shopping online to get the best price for bigger items such as game consoles etc.
