I love tai chi, and wondering if there were any other tai chi people out there. I went to classes for about four years studying the Wudang form but stopped when the class closed down. Since then I have learnt a very simple form for people with joint disorders and practice it at home a few times a day. Hopefully I'll find another class when I get some more time. I find it really relaxing and it helps calm me down if I'm stressed about something. I'd be really interested to hear from others who do tai chi and find out what they think about it.

Nirvana, there are lots of tai chi videos out there, and if you don't have access to a class it can be interesting to learn that way. But it's always best to go to a class with a qualified teacher, because a video can't correct you. There are a lot of things to consider in tai chi and it's always possible to improve however good you are. But without somebody watching you, it's impossible to know if you're really doing something correctly or if you're just repeating mistakes. So difficult to improve. And most importantly from a health and safety point of view it's vital to have somebody to tell you things like whether your posture and position is correct, whether your breathing right and if you're distributing your weight correctly. You don't want to be making yourself prone to injury and possibly damaging your health from your tai chi practise.

tai chi picture - Very relaxing tai chi pose.
It's possible that tai chi might help your neck if you learnt with someone who's well qualified. It can be good for all sorts of ailments, and there is a special form which is especially good for arthritis, you could try that one maybe as it's extremely gentle. http://www.taichiforarthritis.com/I've also had lots of neck trouble over the years. I didn't do tai chi at the time, but the best treatment I ever had for it was from a chiropractor who used very gentle movements to release the tension there. Maybe that would help you too? (Btw. I don't know what wing tsun is) I hope you've maybe managed to improve your neck since you wrote your reply. Good luck!

Yes ,I love tai chi too, but It's difficult to learn it well for there are some supernatural things with tai chi, even in China. But if you learn tai chi for the purpose of health, you should stick to do it every day and positively it will give you a healthy body.

Thanks for your answer Daniel. It seems that not many people on here do tai chi, so I'm happy to find your answer! I'm sure that there are plenty of things to do with tai chi that I don't know about, including the supernatural aspect. I do practice it mainly for health purposes, although I'm also interested in the how it affects my energy. I feel that it definitely benefits my soul as well as my body. It gives me lots of benefits even though there is so much more to know about it. I'm glad that you love it too. I consider myself a real beginner, but it's something that makes me really happy.
