They say you can make money from blogging

I have been told that there is money to be made from blogging and I did that. There must be something that I am not doing right because I have yet to see a red cent from google adsense. I guess there are already too many blogs out there, right? With all these many people making blogs it must be getting harder and harder to get noticed. Any thoughts?

Yes, you can make money from blogging. It depends on what sort of blog you have and what content you are offering to others. If yours is a money-making blog, I can tell you to give up. Its easier to start a diary blog or some hobby blog which you can update regularly and get better traffic than a money-making one.
If your blog is new, you need to continuously post for a month or few months to give it the content....then you can promote your blog on blog directories etc to get attention

I have all kinds of blogs. But what I am looking for is something regular which does not take too much work to earn money. I am not lazy btw, I work hard and I try to learn what it takes to make money on a regular basis. I did make some money by promoting a product which sold but I consider that a fluke.

I can see that you're one person who knows what he's talking about when it comes to blogging. The problem with "gurus" who populate the net is they tell you a lot of things without details. I am talking about those who want to sell you something that will give you automatic income for life. I wonder if you have come across some of those in the course of your newbie life on the net? There is money to be made in blogging, my blogs have earned a couple of bucks since I started answering this thread, but it takes dedication and a lot of time.
It is hard to get yourself noticed, especially if you don't take the right steps to get yourself noticed. Writing good content doesn't take very long, but you will spend countless hours a day every day of the week getting your blog out there to people and search engines.
I run a blog for noobie bloggers you should probably start reading. Then subscribe to the RSS feed of everyone I have in my blogroll. Put all that into practice and you will find yourself in good standing.

I can see that you've been around the block a couple of times when it comes to blogging and you are way ahead of the pack. Congrats. I hope to one day understand more about it and be one who can dispense some useful advice to others. Cheers!!!
