If you are a parent, does your school district have a Pre-K program? Ours does and I just signed my daughter up, but they only have a limited number of spots. They are only accepting about 20 kids. They are doing a lottery style drawing. I really hope that my daughter gets in because I have heard so many good things about the program.
Does your schoool's Pre-K program only have a limited number of slots?

I worked in a PreK program at my highschool and we only took so many children into the program. The student to teacher ration in PreK programs isn't very large because the children are younger and can potentionally cause more problems, so they have to have less children and so many teachers/aides to help cover them. That's why many programs can only accept so many children. I think the lottery style way of deciding what child gets into the program is a little unorthodox though. I would have preferred a first come first serve and then put up a waitlist so whenever a child drops out another child can be invited into the program.
