nominate someone for best response??? I normally wait until there has been atleast 5 responses before choosing one of them. Im currently going through my unresolved discussions and picking the best responses which got me thinking, when do you nominate your best responses? Do you do it on the day of your discussion, wait for a certain amount of replies or a certain amount of days after the discussion or just the first response that you really like???

My minimum time-frame for this would take a week, doesn't matter how many the responses I receive as long as I could give others the opportunity to share and contribute about my topic. I always comment on each and everyone of my responses (mostly those who have responded according to what my discussion was about), to let them know that I do value their time and effort in putting up their individual opinions. not only that, I also rate them -positively- to help them also in enjoying their time here..

I usually give it at least a week before I even look at them as some people aren't on every day and it's only fair to leave a certain amount of time for members to reply. I don't wait for a certain amount of responses as I know I won't get that many for some of my interests . In fact that reminds me I must go look at them to see how many need doing.

I usually only do it once every few months and get them all done at one time! Ii do sometimes give best response when the discussion is still 'live' as I just think that response is extra special! xxx

i have just cleaned up my unresolved discussions, some of them a few months old,i like to leave a discussion open for a while before i mark a best response, but i have been a bit slack lately and just got busy and forgot to mark them, they are now reasonably up to date.cheers sue

I will leave it a week, even if it has not had many responses. If it has been a busy discussion I try to leave it longer, especially when responses are still being added a week after it started. I don't start a lot of discussions so I never have more than a two or three unresolved ones.

Yes, I nominate someone after I read all the post and replies though it really takes time for me to really choose though I am not really picky, I just love to read the responses then once someone's words struck me then I choose that as my best response.

it does not depend on numbers. i atleast wait for about 1 week to choose. i think many responses that deserve to be best response can arrive. so i wait. i think in that time i have given enough chance.

I routinely go through my unresolved discussions and pick a best response from the ones that responding has slowed down. I like to wait until then because if I just do a certain number of responses, I may pick one and then someone else will respond and I might like theirs better. So its easy to just wait until it looks like no one else is going to respond, and then pick a best response.

well, i did it once, i mean i nominate someone for best response only once, if the discussion i have started is really from my heart i mean if its is something that i really need to be answered i will go and check it and i will nominate the one who gives me the best response, but if the discussion is not what i need i mean if i started that discussion just to be active, i don't check it at all, happy mylotting!!

Your unresolved discussions are the discussions that you havent picked a best response for. You may have gotten responses for them but you have chosen a best response.

I do it when responses to disussions have slowed down or sometimes I do it when I'm going through and someone says something that just hits me hard and I really like what they had to say- so I mark it right away at times. It just depends...

I usually look to see what the condition of my list is, and then, if the mood takes me, award a BR for discussions over 3 weeks old. Sometimes a little longer. Although there was one discussion where I wanted a particular individual to respond, they did, first one on, and I awarded them the BR immediately. Some people leave it for a few hours others months. I love getting replies to my discussions, don't we all? But it is a chore sometimes to wade through dozens of responses trying to find the best. I don't automatically give it to a friend. I try to award it genuinely to the best, but sometimes it is very hard to choose. The criterion for who gets the BR varies. The most useful, appropriate or funny. Even the odd one that makes me cry.

I am getting further and further behind with solving all my discussions, I am also getting further and further behind with sorting out peoples responses to my discussions, I always like to add a comment to people who have gone out of their way to respond and I kind of feel ignorant when I do not comment! I guess I really need to pull my finger out and start sorting it all out!!

It can be pain at times, I went to see how many unresolved discussions I had and it was.....7 pages!!! Most of them only had a couple of responses so I dont bother with them but the ones that had more than 5 responses I tried to choose! It is hard replying to everyone who comments, but I only comment when I feel it needs one. Keeping up with other peoples discussiosn is a struggle for me!!! lol Thanks for posting x

I nominate the best response when I really found one if not I don't nominate anyone. There are no wrong or right answers though it is typically everyones opinion for me but I want to get an answer that really digs deep to my discussion. Something that gives me an idea, a thought and a solution.

Once in a week i go through my unresolved discussions as well all through all the discussions i have started. When to Pick a best response depends on the way the responses flow in. I wait atleast for a couple of days before i pick a best response. I go through all the responses and will pick the one which suits my ideas and my discussions. I Must like the response before picking it for best response. If i cannot mark some good response a best response mark i will sure rate them positive and will see to give them best response in my next discussions. RATED POSITIVE ENJOY MYLOTTING

I wait a month until everyone who feels like responding has then I choose. I am a little lazy about it though and sometimes it is longer than that.

Well I've not been a member long and only have 2 discussions. I waited like a week for people to respond. One discussion had 4 responses and 1 had 2 responses. I just chose a best response tonight. I figured it had been long enough time since no one was responding to them in a week's time. It depends on what I'd feel at the time. If I really like a response then I'd probably choose it in the end, but I'd still wait like a week to choose unless I had a lot of responses for that discussion.

i generally nominate the first post that i really like, but i usually wait for a while to see if there is gonna be more posts, but my discussions die out quite quickly so that aint really a problem for me
