Sea Shells

Being a small girl of 7, I walked the beach to find the softened look of beauty looking at me. The sandy, hot beach was decked with sea shells in a vast variety of shapes. From small cone shapes, to large Conch shells, they all had one common interest. The God of the universe put his sign on them. Every shell, when you pick it up, and place it to your ear echoes the soothing sound of ocean waves, as they come ashore. For many years the shells were not, as abundant as they used to be. How sad it was to walk the sandy beach and not see a flat or cone shaped sea shell. It's almost like God stopped the sea shells. This peace like sound had disppeared for a season.
Now, the shells appear to be returning, in small amounts.
Today there are flat and small shaped shells that lay on the ground. I always wondered how God got that noise in the shells, as a child. The calming, peaceful, waves hitting the sore never dims over the years. If you find a shell years later and pick it up to your ear, the sound of waves is still there.

I love the beach and the ocean. I wish I would have had the joy of growing up in a beach area. I get to go to the beach once a year when I am lucky now that I am older and so my kids get to enjoy the beach some. When My children are grown maybe just maybe my time to live by the ocean will come.

I would of been so happy to grow up living on a beach or atlast by it. I still havent given up the dream of one day moving the ocean or even the lake .
