Not without some major world event, China could out power the west man for man, but ... 1 well placed bomb could really hurt a country as densely populated as China I think the weaponry is stronger in favor of the USA Further more they have more bases to launch attacks and counter attacks from than china. And if those two countries ever fight a war again it wont be just two countries involved. Either way I hope it never comes to a war between these two countries.

yes and no, with the opening up of China's economic system to the world they will quikly become one of the worlds biggist force. But in about 10 years time the communist party of China will be disbanded and broken up with the hardline communists on one side and the revonist communists on the other. the country will then hold a mass election were political partys can be set up, this will lead to Tebits indipendance from China and a mass economic crisis in China, the party elected in will struggle to keep a hold on China's sysem as they begin to privatise its industry. Inflation will probably be a large factor in the partys withdraw from office and soon after some of the old revonist communists will be elected in to power. And so in about 20 years time the country will look nion exactly the same as it does to day but just without all the hammers and sickels everywere. And so China will still be a major political force but just weekend and more 'pro-west'
