Every time I watched David Cook's performance, I can't help myself to recall the memory of Chris Daughtry's performances during the AI season 5. Each week I always waited excitedly for his performances, and this time I wait for David Cook's performance with the same excitement as I had for Chris. Both of them really are the "whole package". And then I was wondering as well, if David Cook's going to have the same faith as Chris Daughtry, being sent home when he's at the top 3. What do you guys think? Is DC going to experience the same thing as Daughtry?

David Cook is a really good musician. The arrangements he does are really sweet. He has a long career ahead of him. I think he could even get into producing.
I didn't watch the season with Chris Daughtry. I've only heard his stuff on the radio. Personally I really hate his stuff. Its boring and overdone.
I think David Cook is much more fresh and creative. I think He'll at least be in the top 3. I think its going to be between him and the other david.

My prediction for the final is going to be the Davids too.. both of them are great. However i think Cook has wider range in his musicality. He really sang the "music of the night" excellently. Flawless....

I agree. I think David Cook is more diverse. I really like the way he rearranges songs. I think that he has a lot of musical talent. I think he could be a music producer. Archuleta could learn all this as he is almost 10 years younger than Cook.
Archuleta is an amasing performer but I think he needs to step away from his parents and develop his own style.

Well, I certainly hope not. David Cook's really talented -- but should he face the same fate as Chris Daughtry, then I guess all still will be fine, I mean, Chris Daughtry didn't win the competition, but he sure did much better than the winner of that season (Taylor Hicks).
But I am rooting for David Cook to win this season. I hope he wins.

ME TOO! I wasn't even an American Idol fan until I heard Daughtry. I loved him. I look forward to David C performance every week as well. He is just so good. I think it would be best for him (like Daughtry) to NOT win AI. Sometimes I think it can be a curse to win and then be bound by all the contracts that go along with it. If David were to go home as 4th which is where I think Daughtry went, I think he might have as much if not more success as Daughtry. As the judges have said, he could already be a recording artist.

Yes, I too watch with great anticipation for David Cook's performance each week..... and this week, he performed last. I loved watching Chris Daughtry, and although I was disappointed when he left far too early, I think it was the best thing for him. It freed him from the confines of a more stringent AI contract that the winner ultimately has.
I do believe though, that if nothing else was accomplished by the early departure of Chris Daughtry from the show, I will say that I think he managed to give the AI contestants better credibility. I mean think about it. He has proven to be more than a flash in the pan, and although alot of people thought that his newness would wear off, and he wouldn't sell very well, he has more than proven the critics wrong. Then there were the music listeners who were not "into AI and thought it was a joke", who have come around to Daughtry. He has proven himself.
I think should David Cook win, they already have the template by which to make his debut album. Look at Chris Daughtry. Let David have some input on the music, the musicians, and most of all, the content, and let it fly.
If he wins, (Which he is my pick... but so was Chris Daughtry), he'll do quite well.
