dear mylot, can we have and edit button on our discussion?

It has been said they don't plan to allow us to "edit" our discussions. Crash did say to one responder who suggested an edit period that he would talk to the others about it. But honestly I don't see it happening. What I do is I type most of my responses, comments, discussion in Microsoft word then paste it to the box. That way spelling and most grammar is taken care of. I type pretty well but cannot spell a thing. And there is always the inevitable typo. It’s a bit of a hassle, but to me worth it.

Hi tigerdragon.. Good thing you raised this issue. Its also one of the things that I hope mylot would provide to its users. Sometimes I am so in a hurry that I dont check my response or post. I just notice it when I do reviews or somebody respond to my posts. It would be great to have the edit button. Maybe the reason they dont provide it since they do pay per post so it might affect somehow on how things quantified.

I have long been contemplating on this one Tiger. But I think the reason why myLot does not allow us to edit our post after hitting submission is that we get paid for those post and if we can edit them then we can also delete them or clear the box which could mean loss of our points. Anyway, I think that mylot should give us at least 3 minutes to edit our submitted posts before it becomes embedded.

There was a discussion on that if I am not mistaken. I think it is ok to have some typos as long as everybody understand the content or the message you are trying to convey. You can use the preview button to double check your discussion before submission. Its the same as edit button.

Yes, it would be nice if there will be an edit button before you really want to submit your new discussion or replies to the other discussion.

I agree with lot comments here that at least mylot gave us a few minutes after we post our discussions or comments to edit if it was a typo.

i think its the need of the hour. we really need it. with this we can edit the post. also if we are allowed to delete our own post, it would be nice.

That's so true! I have the same problem all the time too! After I hit the button energetically, usually I find that I have a spelling mistake or two and it really does annoy me when I see it! I hope they would introduce the edit button too!

Yes, I am submitting my plea for this too! I typo way too much and being here doesn't help. Posters post whatever is on the top of their heads and hit the post button while still caught up in the emotional frenzy, checking the spelling just won't fit into that whole cycle of things.

I always thought that as professional posters (People that have done forums for awhile) that having a post go out with no typos is what makes a forum look like it has some sensible content. I would love to have an edit button. DCMerkle

i make a lot of typos too! if it were for a spellcheck add-on i got for my mozilla firefox i wouldnt have seen most of my mistakes. i hope mylot make an update button too. i hate it when i forget to attach a pic onto a topic and only realise it when i press the "post response" button, its too late by then.

i have the same feeling too, you just picked up the topic i want to raise. I don't know how to edit, maybe not, right? people will understand, just one or two words will not affect the understanding of the whole meaning. but isn't it better that we can perfect our discussion? Wish mylot will try and we can edit some day. enjoy~~

The only way I could prevent myself from typo errors is to double-check it before I send the response. They also have that tag thing before posting, right? So another opportunity for double-checking. But people make mistakes all the time, so please myLot, add some edit buttons.

this might help but then we all make thr typos and most dont pay attention to it for I read any ones post like they intended it

Editing buttons would be great. I know we are supposed to be paying attention to what we wright here but it isnt always as easy to see the mistakes you have made until you are reading it as some one else would be. I guess that is why we have the preview response button.

I would like to see a 'delete' button. On the odd ocassion that I accidentally post a discussion twice, I would like to be able to delete one of them. I don't think there's any harm in deleting one of your own discussions. If anything it's better for mylot because there would be less opportunity for people to reply to it which means mylot wouldn't have to pay me as much when I make mistakes and post two discussions!

Hello tigerdragon, I make a lot of mistakes too. Maybe I type too fast that sometimes, I have a lot of typo errors. Like you, I don't have the habit to check my response/discussion after typing it. Since the very first time I joined my Lot, many people have requested the same thing too but till now, I don't hear any change from my Lot staff.

Oh man, I am ALL FOR an edit button! There is nothing worse than re reading your answer about three times and then being satisfied you have found all your typos and then hitting submit to find yet another typo. It is not so bad when the typo can be read but I tried to type "fact" and typed "fat" instead so I am afraid I will have offended some people. I am definatly one hundred percent for an edit button on mylot!

It is normal to have common errors. I also do sometimes. I overlooked some words and find out that I already posted it. I wanna ask about it also. Maybe they can put an edit button on this one so we will not be posting an erratum whenever we missed something out.
