hi folks, my husband and i are planning to have garden in our backyard, we would want to have some fresh fruits and vegetables since we know it's good for our health, and it would be a good thing if we can grow a lot of them so we don't need to buy anymore from the store since prices are getting high. it's a nice idea too since we have a big backyard so why not just use the space we have and it would be pretty nice to have our own garden. Planting would require time and effort but i think it would be worth it, it would b a nice experience too. Just last week we bought the seeds we need and planted them in small pellets first, wait for them to sprout there, then will just move everything to the ground when they get bigger. i feel excited having our own garden, do you think it's a good idea to have one? would you like to have your own garden too? what do you think?

I am not sure whether I enjoy gardening. I spent most of my time at university and of course I can not have a garden here. But I cultivate some plants before.
The last time I was in a garden planting vegetables was more than 10 years ago when I was still in primary school. At that time it was part of our course. However I did have fun in it.
My mum try to plant something on the earth in front of her workplace. She think it will be more healthy if the vegetable is planted by her. And that's also another way of saving money. The price is just amazingly high these days. On the contrary, my father enjoy planting flowers which my mum does not show much interest. I think if they can finally find a place for them to work together, maybe our family can have a really nice garden.

Yeah, I would love to plant myself a garden, including corn, tomatos, and other veggies. I would have another garden, including roses. You know, the best thing to have for your garden to grow certain plants is by using what is a lot better than ordinary soil that are sold in stores. It is just compost, converted from organic waste; grass, leaves, ect. Rather than just leaving that pile for long time, I would show you the web site that sells machines that does the composting. It is www.compostumbler.com. Let me know what you think.

yes I do actually I just planted some bulbs for a summer flower. And they are sprouting up and everything, I just got some seeds for tomatoe and sugar snap peas, we thought to go ahead and start planning to put together a vegetable garden. Not sure I am ready to do the fruit just yet, but zucchini I would not mind growing and maybe even some lettuce or something. We will see what happens. I am excited to get started oh, well I want to grow raspberries and blueberries....if you do get blueberries always get them in 3's....three plants grow the best when together.

I like gardening very much. We have big kitchen garden in our backyard and almost all around our home. But I stay in a city away from home. Still I'm managing to have fpots where I plant both evergreen plants and vegetable too. Whenever my mom visits me which is ocassional, she always adds one or two variety. It is always nice to hear about love of gardening. Good luck.

Hello dear clarie. It is nice to have a backyard with a garden for you to plant some fruits and vegetables, good for health. To well use the backyard is a good idea, but I am sorry to say that I do not have a garden or backyard as I live in an apartment on the seventh floor. I wish that you would harvest lots of fruits and vegetables later on with your hard gardening and work on it. Happy planting.

yah, it's nice to have your own garden and see your plants grow in your very eyes! it's like taking care of somebody too, they need to be watered and fertilized to grow healthy. i know it's hard if we love to do something but we can't do it, hopefully you'll get to have your own place to make your garden. have a nice day!

Hi claire03! It is really a good idea to have a garden and grow vegetables especially now that prices are going up. I do have a garden, two actually. One in my backyard where we grow vegetables and have some fruit bearing trees planted there too. In the from yard, we have a flower garden. However, I do love my vegetable garden because it has been more than a year now that we have homegrown vegetables free from harmful pesticides and chemicals. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

Having your own garden is a privilege which should not be wasted.
I have a small greenhouse in which I am growing lettuces, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
The tomatoes are in a growbag into which I sunk some 10 inch pots with their bases taken out. The tomatoe plant is then placed in the pot above the growbag and it makes the roots go deeper for moisture and promotes a healthy plant.
I also put soda (pop)bottles neck down in the growbag with their bases cut off to make watering spouts and reservopirs.
That way if I'm out of the area they still have water which drains slowly into the compost.

I think having your own garden is great, especially if you grow just the tasty treats that you love. I am a blueberry nut, so I have a couple of bushes in the backyard as well as peaches, and wild blackberries. Last year we planted watermelons, and had a bumper crop. Not much is better in life than taking a summer evening stroll through our acreage with your sweetheart with sweet fresh fruit warm from the sun..

we love fruits too like blueberries, peaches, oranges and strawberries. we also like to plant that in our garden, we didn't start yet since we are busy cleaning the yard, flower beds, fertilizing, seeding and cutting grass. wheww!! it takes a lot of effort to get all these things done. hopefully soon, we'll start to replant the pots of veggies cause it's already getting bigger everyday. thanks for stopping by gman, have a nice day!

Dear friend,
I had not done much of gardening but I like to see and watch those attractive gardens the way it is arranged and the lots of flowers and other features. Moreover the landscape design is also much attracted. I do seen those gardens of those people for whom it is a hobby and also those are well kept and should be admired.

Do we like to garden????? You bet!!!! My hubby and I have a large garden and we have landscaped every bit of it ourselves. It is our design and hard work that has led to the little piece of heaven we have right in our back yard.
We have two water ponds, a herb 'wheel' made of bricks where we grow herbs that we dry and use all winter. The garden has perennials, annuals, vegetables, fruit trees, shrubs and trees. In one corner there is a hammock...in another a shaded courtyard my hubby built from lattice and it is covered in vines. We love our garden and gardening and highly recommend it to anyone! It is a great hobby and we love the connection with Nature and the bounty it provides.
Hope you enjoy as much as we do! I have included a photo of our backyard. We also have a garden in the front as well. And yes...we did bring in the rocks creating the boarder ourselves. We lovingly gathered them then loaded and unloaded them in our truck. Lots of hard work...but we like the finished product!

Thats a very good idea. Its good because you have space so you could have a garden. I also wanted to have one but theres no more space. Though we still manage to have one coconut and a fruit tree in front of our house.

I am glad you like gardening. But not for me. I don't like gardening. I just don't like to get my hands dirty with soil. I live in an apartment so I don't plant anything. but in future if ever my husband and I move to a landed house with a backyard garden, I might consider planting our own veges or some fruit trees so as to save some marketing cost or even sell the harvest in the market. But for now gardening is no no.

We have a garden as well and it's wonderful. The tomatoes have a great aroma and don't taste like plastic. The honeydews turn out really good each year. Have you thought about planting a cherry tree or maybe a peach one? I always keep little containers in my house with planted fresh herbs like parsley, savory, basil, or whichever ones you like to use in your cooking. A little advice from me, before buying the seed make sure they are not genetically altered or else your veggies will taste like the garbage you buy from the grocery store. Good luck with your gardening!
