I should say that my mother is very keen about it.. She makes sure that everything necessary is there in a whole day's meal in the right proportions.. She uses minimal fat and oil, and sometimes ignores the protein.. :( No one has any dietary disorder in my family.. So how about you?? Does the person in charge of cooking, in your house take care of this crucial thing??

I do my own cooking and I am extremely careful that it is a balanced diet. The only protein food I do not eat is red meat but I get plenty from other sources.

Yes in my house too there is lot of importance given to diet and there is no dietary disorder in my house too. Good diet is helpful in today's world and it helps us remain active and do every work nicely without getting restless.

I do try to balance my diet! A lot of vegetables and fruits with some light protein and carbohydrates makes me feel full and content!

as a diabetic I have to balance everything to keep my blood glucose at an even keel. so I have veggies and fruit, plus lean protein and low fat dairy and lots of whole grains all in the right sized servings for a healthy balanced meal. I cook for myself and use very little oil and fat and three to four ounces of protein at a meal. this keeps me feeling good.

When I was in my early 20's I used to do that. I was pretty good at it. I should really start doing that again. I am the cook in the family and I make sure my family eats a balanced amount of foods, of course I don't take as good a care of myself as I do all of them, But I don't measure or anything like that.

No I'm afraid I don't. I am going on a diet so I am going to start watching it better though. I really need to as I cook for Mom too but she loves the fried food. She's 81 y/o old so I try to make her happy even though I have to get on to her every now and then about it, especially for eating too many sweets.

LOL that's nice, in our family, no one ever does that, we can eat pretty much anything we want, whether its full of fat and oil, junkfood, etc, were not really fat, but were not just diet conscious.

I maintained some easy steps to maintain my diet.I eat sweet one time in a week. And,I take evening meal 3 hours before sleeping , it helps the digestive system to rest while sleep. Always i tried to eat one fruit as a supplimentry food after each meal.

Yes, I am very careful about my health in regard to food.I actually wrote an article about on the net some time back. There are even ways to cook food that is more nutritious.

To be honest with you I do not do this, I just cook what I want to cook, I never fry anything and I do not use much oil if I even use oil. I think that what we eat is healthy enough without having to bother too much about it.

I wish that I had that kind of self control. My husband and I have never been good about having a "balanced" diet. We have been trying a little harder now that we have children, but we still find it a challenge. Sometimes it's even harder with the kids...Our two year old will only eat carbs!

I never care about if the diet is balanced. When I am at home, my mom is responsible for cook. She will choose the most balanced diet for me so I don't need to consider about it. When I am at school, I eat at the school dining hall. There are a variety of food for me to choose and I will try different food each day. I just eat what I like at school dining hall.

I do most of the cooking at home. So yes I am careful about what I use in my cooking. For instant, if I want to stir fry vegetables, I will use a little oil and the rest I will use water. If my husband do the cooking, then he will simply cook whatever he wants without even checking whether it is good or not. It is hard to eat a healthy diet everyday but I try to.

Personally I do not eat properly, I sorta just eat what I feel like when I feel like it. What I eat is not balanced, so I know it is not healthy to eat this way. I have tried a few times to start eating more healthy, but I am a rather lazy cook and have a very finicky nature to what I like to eat. Fortunately I have no young ones here to worry about. My son lives with his mother and he eats well, tho he is finicky just like his father.
