As this is earth day,I have read the paper on all the work being done to clean up the roads, lakes, river banks and the other great ideas,I must ask,how many people with young children switched to cloth diapers or training pants with plastic panties to help control the vast amount of garbage/environmental damage caused by disposibles?

Now that is a great idea! I used cloth on my daughter, but that was 25 years ago..I think it would be wonderful if parents would switch to cloth..It would really help the environment..

thank you Feona,I reward thos using cloth diapers/training pants with plastic panties with a free key cut or discounts on my services.
I have been doing this for nearly 30 years now,and have even had a large number of mom's change over after seeing the distruction caused by the disposibles.

It is nice that you offer that service..Many people don't care about what they can't see, and even alot of those that see it, don't care anyway..It is sad..I think in the long run not only are they good for the environment but they are cheaper..Wash them and reuse them..That sounds simple to me...I guess that is too much work for some..I don't know...Cloth diapers have come a long way from when I used them....They have velco now and I'm not sure what else...

I see we thing a lot alike here...I just started a discussion about this very thing, but about plastic in general and how we're relying on it too darn much...as for the diaper issue...unfortunately how many women would be willing to switch to cloth diapers? Especially women in the work force...The problem as I see it, in just about every aspect of our lives we've gotten too use to the conveniences of plastic use and in the process it's killing our environment and us as well.

Actually,I have had quite a few that changed to cloth, the main problem is,that you never hear of the cloth as the disposable diaper companies have the money to make all the commercials to get you to buy thier product and steer everyone away from the days when you did not have to pay through the nose every week or so.
there are also many types of plastic, some are terrible for the environment as they will not decompose, but like the thicker type in plastic or rubber pants, these do decompose fairly fast.
besides being helpfull in toilet training,I think they look much cuter on the little girls with all the frills.
