An answer about ratings, I hope enough people get to see this

This is what I wrote:
You really have to revamp the rating system, there are trolls on the system that go around negatively rating people,
I am barely hanging on to 95/100 and I have been a 10 for all the while I have been on mylot, I am losing points fast, but there are members that have gone from a 10 to a 5 or lower, and the buss is everyone is unhappy.

We are monitoring the ratings and will continue to do so. Please continue to actively rate other peoples discussions and to rate them accurately because this increases the strength of the system.

I wish they would do away with the "stars and ratings" all together, what do we really need them for, they are causing nothing but problems. Mylot if your reading this why not just take a vote and ask us - the mylot members if we want to keep the stars/ratings or not? That's the fair way to do it.

I also agree with howard that stars and ratings system should be removed. I don't find it accurate.If the voting is to be done for its removal then I'll be the first one to vote.

With as many discussions that have been opened on the subject I certainly hope this will stop all the fluctuations that have seemed to increase over the past few weeks. I am not really expecting much of a change as since the stars rating system was implemented the guidelines says "Be sure to rate users’ discussions, responses, comments, and photos for the new myLot reputation system. The myLot reputation rating is decided by myLot users." I think that they should have always monitored the users rating for abuse.

i think i have also shared that i have got the similar response. but i think what really will happen. i think its not possible to solve all by just monitoring. i do not know the program behind, but i think its not possible to guess what is wrong.

The thing that concerns me is that Mylot says no one person can completely sabotage another's ratings. That means that there are a lot of people just going around doing this just to be doing it for no good reason at all. Maybe that is what trolling is, I do not know.

That's a good sign I guess. At least myLot admin has been notified of this troll.
These people are just jealous and have nothing to do but to annoy and create trouble.
I hope mylot admin will fix this soon.
Anyway, I hope your earnings are not affected at all.

I have been barely hanging onto my rating also. I try not to let it bother me too much though because if someone sees that it bothers you, they will rate you negative also just to make you feel even worse. I was a 10 when I first joined Mylot but not since then. I think monitoring could help, but not sure about it. I think we have way too many trolls in Mylot these days to make it accurate. I wish they would just take the rating system away and let us all be equal and not worry with it anymore.

I wear my low rating with Pride. It shows that I'm an Honest myLotter. I will answer any Post that interests me regardless of the controversy. Those with high ratings pick posts without controversy so their rating will be unaffected. Not me! I wear my low rating like the Badge of Honor that it is! This is why I like the rating system and I agree with myLot's staff.
It does make myLot a better place when everyone has to be Honest.

I always had a 10 for the year and a half I have been here until this post now I am a 9, and no I don't go out to look for controversial subjects, most of the time I stay away from them because I just can't be bothered.

i think that there is a lot of trolling going on rose,it seems to happen every now and then and we have a spat of it.i hope your letter does some good.as far as the stars go,maybe they should just get rid of them ,so no -one gets upset.cheers sue

well i guess they only say that to keep our mouth shut from complaining about the stars. i guess they should act fast regarding on this issue before they loose some of their quality members here in mylot

I have noticed a lot of people I have seen here losing their rank pretty fast even tho they tend to make good quality posts. I hope that those trolls get banned for what they are doing as they are not helping anyone in most cases not even themselves. I would hope that they will monitor it and deal with those people, otherwise it's just a way to dance around the issue and buy them some time to figure something out.

I think monitoring is the way things begin, when they have solid proof that people are being nasty and lowering ratings to be spiteful, then they can build a case to write code to monitor and take action.

I appreciate it winterose that you have shared the response myLot gave you regarding this issue. I just hope that they could really do something about this issue. Monitoring is fine but I hope and pray that they do something better than just monitoring. I am not happy about what is happening. I know how it feels to lose the points that we have worked hard for. Nonetheless, this won't stop me from being an active myLot member.

The only way their moderating will help, is if they zone in on the trolls and delete their accounts for such misbehaviour.
I would rather see them get rid of the rating system altogether. Maybe replace it with a different kind of rating, based on seniority maybe? For active posters who have been here for certain lengths of time?

Well for a start it is good to know that myLot at least acknowledge emails sent to them. I am not sure, it depends how much monitoring they are doing, there needs to be a few of them doing it so that they can start to see a picture, because I am sure that there is a picture somewhere, it is just seeing the whole of it. I just think that they should look into the whole rating system altogether.

i know there are a lot of mylot members that has been affected of such "trolls" it surely is not fair but what can we do, some dont have a happy life i guess, haha!
anyway, like most i have been affected of it as well but dont want that to bother me anymore coz i know some have known me out here by now and they know that no matter what my star says it doesnt define me as a member more so as a person.
again, thanks for sharing it with us. i just hope they can do better than just to monitor.

Well, I also suffering from the bad ratings system of mylot and just about to write a note to mylot admin and you did the same before so I don't need to contact them as you already got the reply.
Well I don't think monitoring will done anything and I also don't think whether there's any group of people who done this, as if its the case then only one day or only a few people face that problem,,,
And here in Mylot I think all of us just facing this ratings problem from a few days or weeks, So it might be an internal glitch/bug from the mylot system and that should be check by the mylot itself.Have fun!!!

I think you still should contact them the more people complain the more of a chance that they will do something about it.
