We read science, the truth, the reality. But yet, there are many of us who believe in suprstitions in contrast to reality. For eg., a black cat brings ill omen, one should not cough before going somewhere, keeping moneyplant in home brings money, one should not swing an empty baby cradle, otherwise the baby may die.......
This list is endless. So, do you believe in Superstitions, Have you ever heard any specific superstition which you would like to share? Please share in your experiences and views.

Science always failed to tell people about somnethings and it can never do so. Some superstitions were started by our ancestors because they help us a lot in future but common sense should prevail before beleiving in these superstitions.

i don't really believe in superstitions or anything like that because honestly i've never saw how they are true or anything like that, because i use to believe that if a black cat crossed your path that something horrible would happen to you(because that is what i was told)and it didn't really do anything out of the ordinary...so no i don't really believe in all of that stuff...

It is hard to decide whether we want to believe in superstitious or not. For me, I try not to believe it unless someone give me admonition about certain superstitious. I have one superstition that I got from my mother. She said to ward off evil spirit from entering the house, one should sprinkle salt in front of the main door. I don't know how true it is but I did try and so far so good.

No. I am only sharing what I know about superstitious. I don't see any reason why sharing is such a no no. If one choose to disbelieve superstitious, it is alright. No harm done. You don't have to sprinkle salt just to prove that there is evil spirit roaming amongst us. There is no need to do that. To believe and not to believe is individual's choice. We should be able to discuss openly on any subject.

This is the same fact i want to share : that even though we perform the things which we are told, yet, we don't want to call ourselve as superstitious. We don't believe, yet, somewhere in our heart, a feeling is there that it is lucky/unlucky. If this is not superstition, what is this?

My late father asked his Chinese buyer of a property; my father asked if he is going to consult a Feng Shui master before buying. The Chinese buyer turned his question and asked my father "Who has the money to buy, me or the Feng Shui master?"
