latin mass the original mass of the catholic church...the mass that produces saints.. In this mass gregorian chants are used. The language use is latin a dead language used in roman times. some parts of the mass are greek sentences or words, like the word krylie eleison... some words in hebrew like.... saboath... and other ancient words you can encounter....The mass were the priest faces the altar. facing to the tabernacle..is a form of sacrificial offering.. compared to the jewish offering of animals....but instead the bread and wine are offered as symbols or comemoration of the cruxifiction of christ in calvary. there are two types of masses the misa cantata or high mass sung in gregorian chants, and the regular mass were the words for the mass are read.Pope Benedict xvi recently release a mortu propio in promulagating back this mass allowing priest to celebrate it again known as the extra ordinary form.
