For our girls, Our hair is our "crowning glory".. We really take good care of it, not just for being glamorous.
I just wanted to ask on how do you take good care of your hair?..
on my part, here's some things I always do to take good care of my hair..(hope these helps.):- applying pure home made coconut oil once a week.(It not only softens the hair and leaves it shiny, it also leaves your scalp moisturized. this replace natural oils that are missing on our scalp. this will also prevents dandruffs.)
-I do not shampoo everyday (every other day will do.).but I do use conditioner everyday!-shampooing your hair everyday will damage your scalp and will take away the natural oil on our hair.hair conditioners replace the moisture and protein we have in our hair that the shampoo will strip away.
-brush my hair 100x times every night- my grandmother told me that it will relax my scalps and bring out the natural oil in it.
-I don't put oil or hair shine on my hair and stay under the heat of the sun for long hours.- it will leave your hair sticky, brittle, dry and frizz!-I don't ponytail my hair especially if it is wet!-it will leave a waves on it!--------My hair isn't that beautiful just like those we've seen on shampoo commercial models but my hair isn't damage.I do that just to take care of my hair.
How about you guys?can you share some tips to make our hair more beautiful?thanks in advance!

I don't do that much to look after myhair but i look after it by not colouring it or straightening it very often. I like the natural colour my hair is so I let it be.
I also brush it every day. I believe it makes it shiny and distributes the natural oils evenly throughout the rest of the hair.
I avoid straighteners and only use one when I am going out (which isn't very often!)

Your hair does look lovely and smooth and shiny from your photo, so your tips must be effective.
I'm afraid I do not take the care of my hair that I ought. I don't use shampoo on it every day, as I think you're right that it strips the hair of it's natural oils. I use condition when I shampoo it, but I don't normally put conditioner on it otherwise. Maybe that is a tip that I should try, as I often get nasty tangles.

thank you so much.
don't forget to put conditioner right after you put shampoo. it will help your hair more manageable. just put it on your hair, not on your scalp because it can cause dandruff.
hope that those tips of mine will help you.

wow 100x eh? Do you actually count? Hehe. as for me, though I love my hair and want it to look sleek and beautiful, I don’t have that much time to take care of it. once a week I use a deep conditioning mask and I also use a leave in conditioner sometimes. occasionally i use some serum to keep my hair frizz free and glossy.

I wash my hair every other dayas it has a tendency to be dry otherwise and I use clairoil herbal essence shampoo for dry hair and herbal essence conditioner for dry hair. I also ocassinally lather in abouta tablespoonful of mayo in my hair then rinse it out with water and lemon juice for shine but you have to be careful to get all the mayo out first. Usually I just stick with herbal essence shampoo and conditioner. I used to use a coconut shampoo years ago but cannot find it today. I also brush my hair each evening. I like to use a lemon juice rinse ocasionally to wash out any residues from shampoos.

mayo will make your hair smooth, shiny, and bouncy. it is good for your hair. i sometimes do that.
just spread mayo onto your hair and leave it for 30 minutes. then wash your hair thoroughly.

I don't anything special to my hair. I do however avoid styling products as well as chemicals like perms and dyes. I also avoid using a blow dryer on my hair and air dry it instead. My hair may not be in the perfect shape, but it is holding it's own and that is good enough for me.

I used to really take care of my hair but now that I have a toddler and a husband that is gone it more often than not goes up into a ponytail. I have curly hair so I only wash it every other day, at most. I also put a leave-in conditioner in it everyday because it is so dry. When I do wear it down I put mousse in it. I have tried many types and brand of mousse. I have found that TreSemme curl care mousse works the best and holds my hair all day. It even stands up to humid southern weather!

Sounds like you already take wonderful care of your hair. I put coconut oil on my hair, wait and wash it. My scalp is old and dry. But I'm going through menopause, so I have hot flashes and night sweats lately. So my hair is sweaty and yuckie (nasty)if I don't wash it every day. Take care

I agree with what all you have said. I have one suggestion to make.
Instead of the condiotioner you use daily , you can use the coconut oil itself for your hair. Take just a few drops of coconut oil into your palm and rub your palms together to spread it properly into your hands. Then just use your palms to spread the oil into your hair and then comb your hair. You'll see the same shine on your hair even without conditioner.
We keralites do like that and we are known for thick and long hair.
I use shampoo twice a week. If I feel my hair getting sticky, I have shampoo bath that day.

Well, I'm 57 years old and I've lost most of mine but I do try to take care of it, as little as it is, and I do pride myself on a certain style. I shampoo everytime I shower and comb it whenever its lost it style. I had a haircut just a couple days ago and I go to this class salon because I know I'm getting a good cut there even if it costs more than average. In fact, I'd rather wait till I have the money to go there and let my hair frazzle with the length until I do. This place is really good and everyone's charming. It makes a guy feel good with the nice touch of friendly and very competent females.

I am not into relax as it makes hair dry, brittle and frizz. go for a rebond instead..do you ponytail your hair?if you do so,its a big no no for the hair which already undergo into relax..if you want to make your hair straight again, go for a rebond..then treatment once a month, and natural hair treatment will also help...like coconut oil and mayo. since its natural, it wouldn't leave any chemicals into your hair.
hope it helps..
