Do's and Don'ts in Wearing Contact Lenses

Contact lens is an important medical device that has to be correctly and properly prescribed and fitted and carefully maintained to help a person see clearly abd correct eye imperfections such as impaired vision, near sightedness, astigmatism and many other.
Wearing and taking care of yuor contact lenses may seem complicated at first, however these simple steps can help you maximize the life of contact lenses especially by wearing them safely and comfortably.
The Do's
1. Cleans and disinfect with a solution specifically made for contact lenses.
2. Wash your hands with a mild soap and dry it before handling contact lenses.
3. Apply hair spray before inserting lenses and apply makeup afterwards, remove makeup after removing lenses.
4. Remove lenses if eyes become red and irritated. Consult a doctor if problem persist.
5. Replace contact lenses as recommended.
6. Have spare lenses and solution when travelling.
7. Attend regular eye check-up as scheduled.
The Don'ts
1. Use distilled water, tap water, or saliva to clean the lens.
2. Swim or take a bath with lenses on.
3. Forget to discard lenses when needed and replace with fresh solution each time it is being clean.
4. Wear contact lens overnight.

I have a don't. Don't drop your contact lens on the floor and then pick it and put it back in! It's best to clean it first before putting it back in.
Also, don't lick the contact lens to moisten it.

That list of don'ts does depend on the type of contacts you have. Some are designed to be slept in. The type I wear are and I do all the time because I don't like to mess with them daily. I also bath and swim with them I'm just careful not to get water in my eyes.
Since I do keep mine in twenty four hours a day I put on and take off make up with them on; same with hair spray. It's never been a problem. I just wash my face and the make up comes off. Of course I don't use water proof make up at all, that makes it easier to wash.

contact lenses needs high maintainance but they are much better than eyeglasses. i used to wear eyeglasses that they really make me feel sick when i wear it for more than 8 hours. it makes me look old too.
