I know very little about computers but I manage to solve a lot of my software and hardware problems from information that I get on the Internet, do you use it as your primary source of knowledge or do you prefer to call in experts.

i fix the problem myself.. im studying computers so it really is no problem for me.. but if i dont really know what to do, i'll seek help from the internet first because i dont really like asking help from people, i feel weak when i ask for assistance..

I always do this... even with health problems... i consult the internet first before going to the doctor... it seems but when i feel that an expert is needed... then i go to them... There are a lot of problems that can be better understood and solved simply by just going to forums... or asking about them here in mylot... but of course... i and always careful about what i read...

I always deal with computer related issues myself. Nevertheless, it is sometimes useful to search online for specific data or to confirm which registry entry is responsible for a certain feature.

I am very reluctant to pay for computer expertise - so rely on the web to aquire any! I can particularly reccomend www.computing.about.com - another area worth exploring is the CNNET qualification (for the UK at least)

For quite some time, if I had computer problem, I called my cousin. He quite good at this. But these days, usually I just surf internet and voila, they gave you lots of good advice. Or just write your problem in forum to discuss like here :D

I prefer to read through the computer magazines and maek a habit of noting things down so that they can be tried when necessary...The internet is a good source of information provided you have a reliable site address and some knowledge...I rather have internet complementing the information from the magazines and journals.

If I could afford to call in the experts, I would never have found this place! Yes, I look up problems via internet and there is so much good advice there. Lots of technical people want to share their knowledge and there are so many sites to help! I never find Microsoft very helpful, it's always the regular people who've had the same problem that are helpful.
