No, I don't carry much cash with me either, maybe 20 or 40 dollars at a time. I use my debit card or write checks for most of the things I buy. I also use my debit card alot when I get gas.

i carry only small amount of cash with me just to meet the expenses of a car breakdown. I tend to spend more if i carry large quantity of cash so i dont carry much unless i am in for a shopping experience.

I never carry cash. I normally have less than $3 in my bag. Since I can use a debit card almost anywhere, it just isn't necessary.
This habit of mine was something of a problem in Japan. People there seems to carry the equivalent of $300-600 around in their wallets. Restaurants and shops do not accept bank cards and many of them do not accept credit cards. Since I am not in the habit of carrying cash around, every time I had to go to the supermarket or out with friends, I had to make a trip to the bank to get more cash!

Well I would not like going to the bank to get money all the time though.

I carry very little cash and usually use my debit card for transactions. I'd say I have $5 or less most of the time.
If I carry cash, I tend to spend it. I think twice about buying something with my debit card!

You are right the more cash you have, the more you tend to spend

No normally the only cash I have is on a tuesday morning to pay my daughters preschool lunch fees so about £6 any other time I pay by cheque or debit card maybe if its really expensive the credit card, my purse is full of cards but not much money!
