when your sick that is? In my personal experience, mom's don' get a break. Kids are sick, their chores go to another family member, they get the day off school. Dad's are sick, they rest all day in bed or on the couch. Everyone caters to them. Mom's are sick...the clothes still need to get washed, dinner still needs to be prepared, rides still need to be given. How are we supposed to get well again if no one gives us a break???

Being a single Mom while my children were little it did not matter if I was sick. I still had to go to work, I still had to get the kids where they needed to be. I was going to school working full time plus raising two girls. I noticed towards the end of my schooling that I COULD NOT get sick. If I had a long weekend available Then guess who was sick. ME. I could only get sick when time allowed it.

The times that you did get sick, or were down somehow, how did you handle it it? Did you push through. business as usually, or did you let some things slide? As your girls got older did they help you out more if you fell ill, or otherwise just needed a break?

My oldest child was 12 at the time and her sister was only 7 My 12 yr old was very mature for her age so she was always a big help. When push came to shove I was on my own though.

Nope mums rarely get a break do they, when mine are ill unless my partner is at home its carry on as normal for me lol and yes I find it takes me longer to recover than if my partner had had the illness!

I know how you feel, we don't get the catering we need when we're sick...life goes on. I only do what is absolutely neccesary, it's so hard when your kids are small and they need you to take care of them. I feed the kids simple meals, have quiet time for older children (watch a movie or something) and lay down and nap with the younger as long as possible because when i get sick I just like to sleep. as far as what the house looks like...too bad if it bothers anybody let them help out otherwise it will still be there when I'm feeling better.
