Ok, I know its not weird or anything. But my cat keeps playing in his water bowl and knocks it everywhere. tried switching to a different bowl, nothing changes. anyway to stop this? or will the cat stop on its own? and the cat is almost a year old.

Our cats do the same thing daily.
The best thing to do is to get a heavy bowl they can't knock around. A good heavy dog bowl is the best to get, something metal I guess.
We have a plastic bowl, but they still knock it all over and play with it.
It's funny to look at sometimes.

It's not a issue of the bowl being knocked over, the cat sticks his paws in it and flings the water out of it. thats the problem.

Oh, lol.
Ours don't do that with their water bowl, they do that in the sink or the tub when they're drinking from the tap. It's funny to watch them do that.

he'll probably stop on his own once he gets bored with it.one of mine does this,i don't know if he's washing his feet,or trying to touch his own reflection in the bowl.all i know is the other cats won't drink from it once his feet's been in it LOL

I hope the cat stops soon, because he turns the kitchen into more then a river.

I have had only one cat that would put his paw in the water bowl and then shake his paw. But he didn't do it very often, so it wasn't a problem. Can you put some mats down around the bowl, so that he doesn't get water all over the place. Or just put paper towels around the bowl. Sorry I don't know the solution to this problem. Wish I could help you.

The mats have already been tried and the paper towels just get shredded into oblivion, while the floor still gets wet. That option is out the window already.

My cat has the same issue, but instead of playing with her water bowl, she keeps playing with her food bowl. She's also almost a year old. Now I've been wondering if she doesn't like her food or something. But I've already changed several brands of food, still nothing changes.
