Are the lyrics of U2 considered to be very metaphysical and poetic?

i love u2 and most of there songs are very deep . Some would make great poems as well. I always liked the song whos gonna ride your wild horses .

Of course U2 lyrics are deep and poetic. However, they are not what they used to be. Achtung Baby and Zooropa are their poetry peak. If U2 lyrics don't do it for you, maybe you are not smart enough to read between the lines. It requires a knowledge of the world that some people don't have. Songs like "The Fly" can really open your eyes and realize that the universe can actually explode cause a one man's lie. We have seen it hapen.
