How far do you walk each day?

I try to walk at least 10,000 steps each day, and wear a pedometer to keep me motivated. I also drink a healthy energy drink which gives me a boost, especially when I'm tired. Still, sometimes with all life's other responsibilities it's hard to find time to walk even that in a city. How far do you walk each day, and what do you do to keep motivated?

I think I walk about 8-9 miles a day.
I just keep motivated by listening to music while walking.
I also try and get my parents to go on walks with me sometimes
having company can help keep you motivated.
I also just keep telling myself that I have too.
I haven't really had a problem trying to stay motivated yet though but I'm also trying to keep it so I'm always motivated.
I think it's OK to take a day off sometimes
it surely makes the next day feel real easy! hehe

Just walking back and forwards at work is walking in my book! I know what you mean though - it's not the same as a good brisk walk - but it makes it very hard to turn around and go for a walk as well. I get much more tired when I have to be on my feet just standing than if I'm walking. Thanks for your post and I hope you find an enjoyable way to follow your doctor's advice. Take care.

I don't walk nearly as much as I should. The weather has been so bad here lately that there hasn't been alot of opportunity. I don't live near a mall or anything so the opportunities to walk are limited.I'm going to try to walk for the next few weeks before it gets hot.
