Great Wall

I think the Great Wall of China is amazing. It is over 2,000 miles in lenght and was built thousands of years ago.
This is something I truly want to visit before I die. I hoping to eventually teach English in China. Has anyone here been to the Great Wall if so, What were your impressions?

Yes, the Great Wall is one of the wonders in the world. I have been there in 1997. It's a truly wonder. Hard to believe it has so long time history. If you walk from the start point till the end on foot, it will spend you a few years finishing it. So you can see it's a really amazing work from human beings. And I would like to tell you that Chinese people are very friendly and I hope one day you will agree with me when you teach English in China.

sounds great to me. I am going to make a promise to myself to see China before I die. I love traveling and this is the place that I most want to visit.

It is FREAKING AWESOME!!
Well I happened to go on a clear day when there wasn't any smog in 2003.
If you go in the near future...i think if you go to the main bit there's two sides you can walk, one side's steeper, but there's less people so you can walk slowly. Oh and whatever you do DON'T WEAR HIGH HEELS. There was this other tourist who was wearing stilletto boots up the great wall...NOT a good idea =] lol

i haven't been there but i'm also dreaming and hoping that i could go visit the great wall of china
