I discovered I now have three kittens. Clearly, I need to keep the kittens away from my dog. Any ideas how to do that?

Try to keep them at a distance but occasionally bring them closer carefully and their is a good chance they might become friends.

I have dogs and cats before and they can get along very well even they can play together. It is far to be true but I made it, you just need an effort at the very beginning, about 1 to 3 month. what you need to do is every time you feeds your dog feed your cat also in the same area and with you presence and make sure that enough food for both of them. keep the distance at the beginning but make it closer as time goes by. you need to create an environment that each one of them fell secured. trust me you will make it and you will experience a wonderful kind of feeling when you see two enemy becomes friend.

I think the only thing you are going to be able to do is keep them in seperate areas. At some point you could probably let them sniff each others areas and they might become friends. You should always keep them supervised though at least until you feel you can trust the dog not to eat the kittens.
